Should I stay or should I go? 30.2.4>26 and 43.2.4>63

Dear Onlineclarity Community,

I've been struggling with finishing my PhD thesis and balancing work and private life. One recurrent feeling I have is that a change of place could freshen up things and rearrange old habits which are hindering my progress. My sister lives in another city which is cheaper and also there are more options of things to do during my free time, but I am scared I'm just running away and also that I may lose the connections I already did here.

I asked the oracle: What is the image for the conclusion of my PhD thesis if I stay in X and commit 100% to it?

30.2.4>26

And: What is the image for the conclusion of my PhD thesis if I move to Y and commit 100% to it?

43.2.4>63

I found funny that for both castings the 2nd and 4th lines changed. The first casting seems at first glance more positive (30>26) but the second one deals with determination and completion (43>63). And both had the 2nd and 4th lines changing, would anyone help me to understand the symbolism of these castings?

I see these hexagrams as advising you that if you stay where you are you'll either become totally burned out or you'll become a professor yourself without ever having really had a life, where as if you move to the citiy where your sister lives you can complete your studies at a much less stressful and pleasant pace and eventually use your knowledge to create a whole new world for yourself . Life wasn't meant to be so hard!

Your insight and sensibility are amazing. In fact I took the decision to move a couple of hours ago. I asked the oracle "the image of me serving my true purpose if I move" and got 60.6>61. Was enough Thank you for helping me.

But really ... for 30.2.4, Richard Rutt's translation gives us:

30 - Auspicious for raising cows ....
30.2 - Yellow orioles. Most Auspicious.
30. 4 - Suddenly coming out: burning, dying, leaving behind.

'Raising cows' (Hex. 30) bring to mind the idea of caring for things in our life, our world, which in turn can then care, nourish and feed us. So, do either X or Y seem like the place where you can do that? Do either one of them provide more nourishment for you?

30.2 - Yellow orioles are most colorful, and this made me wonder, which place - X or Y - gives you more opportunities to get out into nature - parks, trails ... - where you might encounter beautiful birds and such?

And 30.4 seems to indicate a move or change, e.g. 'suddenly coming out', but it also made me wonder, is there more to your decision here ... maybe something else that you're wanting or needing to change - to get away from the 'burning, dying'? Perhaps not, but it made me wonder if there's more to your decision, and if so, does acknowledging this help with your decision?

So 30.2.4: in my opinion, it is not necessarily to leave or not that is important ... As said Freedda, Line 4 "maybe sommething else". Yes, something or someone that is rejected. I want to ask you a question: how's your lover?
Line 2 is beautiful (especially when there's a story between two people) : it's clarity, truth ☀

What am I chasing is to "know there'll be some way When I can swing everything back my way"

I came to my current town because of the job position, would not be a town I would choose to live. After a while I grew fond of it, but my experience working for the project was very painful. I never felt valued by the team and my Boss and additionally had some workplace conflict situations which I felt without resources to deal with. I learned a lot, but this really drained me out emotionally and I felt burned out. Socially, was also difficult to know new people and have a community. I kept struggling for years to commit to this town hoping it would change. Then on top of that my landlord tried a trick to get illegally more money from me, because of the Corona lockdown. Was again a burn out situation (30.4) So I decided to give back the flat and because of corona I can work online for the second semester which gives me no real ties here, besides my girlfriend. But I will move to a place 4 hours by train from here, so for me this is not a biggie. I am craving for change, to lighten things up.

So yes, you are spots on. I want to get away from this 'burning, dying.' This year I made a Vipassana meditation retreat and was wonderful. But as soon as I came back I fell into a mild depression. I took it as a sign that here was something affecting me here negatively. Maybe the feelings about the job are mixed with the feelings about the city.

Both cities have lots of parks and people can be in the Nature, although when I really want to be in the nature I would flee both cities

Maybe is confirmation bias, but when I made the second casting asking for the move and got 60.6>61, it was instantly clear. on the other hand the second casting to stay here gave me 18.2.3>23 ...

By reading your interpretation of the casting, I felt that the image if from my past and present, the line 4th is where I am now and for sure everything I learned here feels it gave me the resources of the 26.

I'm happy you remembered me.

Concerning the relationship, I and my girlfriend are both sad that I took the decision, but the new city is only 4 hours away I can totally see that if the relationship continues we can manage. At the end we decided to take some time to connect with our feelings, because I felt without energy to invest what is needed into the relationship because of the work situation, and she is dealing with her anxieties and fears of abandonment and also trauma from the family. We are now doing a '24ish' move towards 52. And its working good.
