Burns, dies, thrown out doesn't sound auspicious for electronic equipment. And Hex 22 would appear to say that it may be a great fashion accessory, but negligible in a practical sense. With that advice I'd definitely give it a miss for now!

So interesting how these simpler questions can get very clear answers that may be useful for understanding the I Ching in more complex situations.
For example, yes Gato and Ginnie you rightly got that I wasn't even all that interested in the gaget and indeed as Willowfox intuited, I asked the question just after watching an ad. Pocassin, thank you for writing out Wilhelm's exact words. I hadn't considered how "illuminates the entire world" applied to the iPhone but of course being able to spread one's light, one's ideas all over is exactly what the iphone claims to enable one to do. What really amazes me is what Arabella saw and is now being confirmed by the news reports - the iPhone is now being found to have serious flaws.

The news is that the latest iPhone has serious engineering problems and it doesn't work if you hold it in your hand!!!
