soul connection 12.1

I recently asked the IChing what the nature of the soul connection was between me and a newish friend whom I care about a lot. I received 12, changing line 1, to 25. This seems to say something to me about like mindedness in dark times... about being rooted in the same soil, perhaps. Am I pushing the metaphor too far? Any thoughts massively appreciated!

Maybe a solid karmic connection where you'll be able to untangle many things together. Very nice line in this context I'd say.

Thanks Topal! Hadn't thought about untangling. 12 is a hexagram I still find surprising as it seems so foreboding as a whole and yet everything in it moves towards ... well... untangling.

12 has always been an interesting hexagram for me. Yes, it can give one an image of lots of work to be done( stagnation, wrong people, never getting anywhere etc.) but there's always a new season if we are able to pin-point what needs to be done. Line 1 is quite auspicious for getting to the crux of the matter. It doesn't mean it's easy of course, work is definitely required but if you stick with it, new realms open up.

The background hexagram is 25 which is also known as "disentangling" which further confirms the nature of 12.1 along with the fan yao of 25.1 the latter of which might indicate getting to the roots of your own stuff with the help of your friend or despite his/her presence. You might be a catalyst for each other which doesn't necessarily mean it will be a bed of roses. Non-anticipation seems to be key in this process of discovery to allow it to flow where it will.

It'll be interesting to see how things develop between you two - whether it is a chaotic relationship or a nourishing one.
