how do you work with i ching?

For problem solving, especially with moral dilemmas.
It works very well in regards to this.

Well I didn't really understand the question it seems.

HOW do I work with it?

I write down a question.
Then sometimes i edit the question two or three times.
Then I cast the coins.
Then I try to understand the answer.
Then I try to put the answer in to practice.

If you are asking something im not answering,
please clarify your question.

I hesitate to say this since I will appear officious but this thread doesn't belong here it belongs in Exploring Divination.

Shared Readings is for sharing readings....for discussions on things like this the place to go is Exploring Divination unless you want to discuss a reading.

I say this in the absence of any moderators but they might move it you never know

For me is there a way for spiritual development?
45 unchanging

'Och', I see from Google Translate, is Swedish for 'and' :) To me this is a significant slip of the pen, and suggests to me that you should return to your Nordic roots. Have you read any Swedenborg? Hexagram 45 is auspicious for spiritual development. You might find better resources close at hand than you will find far away. Sweden is rich in lakes (Dui) and dark forest (Kun). Maybe there is something for you in the nature that surrounds you.

As I read it she isn't asking for help with her reading she is asking a general question

I read this as, "I Ching, Is there a way for me for spiritual development? Therefore, when I got 45 today I tried to find an appropriate answer. . . "

I am incompetent in any language other than English and not so good in English. I admire anyone who attempts to communicate in English.

well at last we have the socks in the sock drawer neatly balled into pairs and the underpants in the underpant drawer neatly folded and colour co ordinated.

er as discussed here http://www.onlineclarity.co.uk/frie...n-forum-by-Steve-Marshall&p=185841#post185841

we began on the nature of reality and we ended with an argument over which drawer the socks belonged in.

There is a message here ! This thread was about spirituality but it's actually become about house keeping. There is no use in spirituality if you cannot find a clean pair of socks in the morning

I thought we changed it to the knickers drawer?

And I don't color coordinate my knickers. It's against my spiritual development.

Yesterday I meditated, prayed, did a couple self-developmental or correctional IC readings, viewed three hours of Joseph Campbell's Mythos, but the most spiritual thing I did was to shovel and empty a wheelbarrow full of horse manure.

And I don't color coordinate my knickers. It's against my spiritual development.

In using the term 'underpants' I was adapting my vocabulary to the US readership. But men don't wear knickers only women wear knickers so I'm shocked you have a knicker drawer......but each to his own....

Synchronicity alert. After writing my post here about balling socks neatly and folding and co ordinating under garments, I pootled off to bed, opened a magazine. The first sentence to hit my eye at random was this

A woman discussing how her husband and mother in law's relationship might have been if she had lived ;

"....she and he would have got on like a house on fire, bonding over their shared appreciation of a rigorous rolled sock, tut-tutting over the state of my overstuffed underwear drawer."

So the universe is directing me to my drawers I think....or in anycase my subconscious is.

I opened a drawer in my bedroom recently and actually laughed out loud.....and I've never laughed at a drawer before. There was such a random selection of objects in there that as far as I could tell they didn't have much to do with me....around the weird objects lay dust. Yes it must be time for me to de clutter.

Oh and attempting to get back to your topic Annmaria, this below could be a metaphor for inner life too could it not.

I think I use Yi to de clutter my mind.....which at times would be much like that drawer described above

Many things that clutter the mind are considerations.

Possibly 3/4 of considerations are unnecessary, they do not need thinking about just living through.

Oh. How can we rightly translate ancient Chinese if we can't even get our geographic proper English right? Do burgundy, blue and white striped cotton briefs count as underpants or knickers? They must be the former since they have that sewn opening thingy in front.

Nice synchronicity, btw. Proof that we're still on topic. And, laughing at your disheveled drawers sounds very Zen to me. Either that or a little loco, which are close to the same thing.
