Hey all,

Asking about a relationship in an ongoing process of growth/decline/regeneration.

The first Q was 'X's view of relationship?" 20.

Lately when asking about anothers perspective, I've also taken into account alot of the forum posts i've read here in the archive about how Yi cannot give someone elses point of view. I'm slowly coming around to the idea that this might actually be true, even though I still ask alot of Q's about anothers intention/perspective.

So I took this hex instead, to be talking about me. I took this to mean quite literally, that it is inbetween the 'ablution' and the 'offering', an inbetween moment of contemplation where an action still needs to be performed?

with that in mind, I asked

'what action do i need to take?" 45.

I took that to mean, I need to gather in a larger sense with this person in a group format? with friends? Again the overall oracle emphasises 'To bring great offerings creates good fortune.' So I asked

'what great offering do i need to bring to the gathering?' 8 unchanging

Union, a sense of togetherness? 'Whoever comes too late
Meets with misfortune.' So i need to show this person I am seriously intent on uniting with them?

I'm taking this all quite literally, haven't looked up the nuclear hexes but I just thought that I'd take the oracle's words on their own this morning.

If anyone could give me any other details, for instance, Ive read that 45 is a very spiritual hex? Also, that unchanging hexes (i read somewhere here) can mean there's no growth capable in the situation?

Thanks,

Hi Yxeli :),

I am sure others can give you their take on specifics. I thought I would offer that sometimes when I receive an unchanging hexagram, I will read all of the lines instead of none. It gives me a more thorough understanding of what the hexagram is 'made of'. Also, if viewing an unchanging hexagram as 'no growth capable' or 'being stuck' in that hexagram's energy, I still feel there is benefit in reading and retaining the line advice of the hexagram. The line advice could be looked at as 'the way out of being stuck'. And maybe you can't 'get out' at that moment, but nothing stays like this and so it is good to know the way in which eventually you will be able to proceed.

And when I get a reading that does have lines, the relating hexagram of that reading can be looked at as 'unchanging' as well. In past readings, my memory tells me you are received a lot of 8's and 45's for your relating hexagrams.

I tend to view the relating hexagram as 'where I am' and 'what I am working with' and even sometimes 'what I would like to happen'. Maybe an unchanging hexagram could be the same. Maybe unchanging readings are Yi's way of saying you need to first understand 'where you are' before you can 'go anywhere'. maybe the unchanging hexagram reading is saying, this is where you are at, take a look at it and understand it better.

Not only am I finding it beneficial to read all of the lines, but I also try and focus deeply on the original Oracle Bone character. It holds a lot in just one picture.

Best Regards,
Courtney

Thanks Courtney, will take all of that into account. Actually I received 10.4 today to do with the same situation, and I read through all the forums, but for the first time I actually just imagined being in a jungle, following a tiger, and stepping on its tail (with an image like that, it's easier to understand the line change). The tiger turns around, looks at me, and hisses, arches its back (like a cat) and holds that posture, staring me out. Definitely a moment of inner truth, where all your instincts kick in and you accept the situation entirely, and move very carefully.

Thanks for reminding me of the bone characters, will check them out.
