I have had a returning stomach problem for years, doctors dont know what it is, maybe an allergic reaction. Anyhow, I tried to ask I Ching: What can I do about my stomach problem and it said: 3.5 > 24.
Cant make sense of it. In one of my translations it says: Sprouting: your juice. The small opens the way. The great closes the way. I can see its something about not overdo something, but what?
How or what should I "sprout"? (reminds me that I read about sprouting some special seeds that should help with this, but this seems too concrete an interpretation). Any suggestions?

When I think of juice and "the small opens the way" I'm wondering if you need to drink something before eating. The "great closes the way" would seem like the solid food you eat should be taken in afterward. Also, from personal experience I would highly recomed EFT for a problem like this, especially if it is an allergic problem.

Interesting response.

Another thought, possibly related. Bradford has for line 5:

Collecting ones riches
A little persistence is promising
A lot of persistence has pitfalls

Sounds like a) you're eating too much of something rich, or b) your system is not absorbing enough richness?

Maybe frank_r might catch this and have some thoughts.

Juice Fast

Juice, or essence, is recommended with "small constancy" for good fortune. Meaning, go on a juice fast for a while, but that is not a permanent life style, just something to help clear up the problem and get you to where you can think about the next step.

As an aside, I once had all the symptoms of an ulcer. I don't much care for the traditional medical approach, so I juiced greens and cabbages for a few days until the symptoms were eliminated. It came back once, and I did more juicing, and simplified my diet for a week, and "the ulcer" symptoms have never been seen again.

Ha- actually I found out 2 years ago that juice (orange juice) often helped and used it for some time every morning. It only helped for a while though.
I am not sure that the words should be taken so litterally though, as "juice" is just that authors words for the chinese picture (called KAO), that is supposed to mean something like essense, the active principle, oil, fertilizing, rich, genious. Notice that Bradford have used the term "richness" in his translation.
(Today I thought it could be the stomach acic?)
Although it could be psychological, - like a tendency to "sproute" to fast. I have played a little with this today, maybe there is a "worried part" in the stomach that moves too fast instead of letting things sproute in their own tempo.

I will check up on your juice cure, Tiger.

Just a litte funny thing about the litteral words of I Ching,
I have tried to solve a problem with my pc for months and asked I Ching how to fix it ! :)
It said that the spokes of the wheels on the cart was loosened.
I laughed! :))) Is this I ching trying to find the best words for some hardware?
I wonder what it means by "spokes", though :)

Thanks for your comments!

Hi,

From Lise's note on line 3.5
Line 5: 'Juice' is fat meat, or a region below the heart. It is also used like the English word juice, meaning spiritual energy and courage

Thanks for those suggestions, interestilng that juice can also mean "fat meat" :) hm...
Wau, Tuck´s site has very detaled information, thanks for showing me that. Interesting he use the word "nourishment" (nourishment, it is auspicios to persist on a smaller scale). First thing that comes to mind would be to not overeat, and to eat slowly (and maybe not "fat meat" as suggested by the other translation). Only thing is that I am already careful about that.
Maybe Lise´s interpretation is helpful: "The mind needs ideas, feats, accomplishments or exchange in order to make its energies sprout". I have noticed that it seems like I get this problem, when I have been out of inspiration for some days and nothing has happened. So that could make sense: To get my self moving, not in a big scale, as one cannot start big interprises every day, but just little, like sprouts, that grows a tiny bit every day. If they dont they will rotten.

Interesting translation. It might refer to the intestines? (small and large). Problems
with the large intestine are due mainly to lack of adequate water and fluids intake.
So perhaps this means too much food coming in, but not enough liquid. Resulting
24 sounds like it's nothing serious and it will fine.

Green Juice

Most of us think of "juice" as something that comes in a bottle, and is strained and filtered and pasteurized to within an inch of its life...actually way past its life. It is quite dead, but nice and sweet and keeps well.

When I was talking about a juice fast, I was talking about taking fruits and vegetables and juicing them and drinking this living "essence" of the plants. (If you don't own a juicer, you will need to find a health food store with a juice bar). I should have given you a link, so here is one: http://www.juicefasting.org/

Such juice is usually green, as the primary component of it is leafy greens. It is an acquired taste. Use more vegetables than fruit.

You can try skipping one meal a day and having fresh juice instead, or go a day with just juice. You can go slow and see what your reactions are. Juicing rests the digestive system; not as much as a complete fast, but as there is no solid food, it is a good rest in which you receive nutrition.

Lots of people have had great success in enhancing their health with fresh juice.
