Storm sandy casting!

I cast this before the storm begun to see how bad the storm would be in my particular area. At the time I cast it the storm hadn't hit, but was on the way about a day off from the shore. I live in upstate NY, so we weren't hit as bad... which the ICHING actually predicted if you look here.

I asked 'how bad will the storm be here? what is going to happen with the storm sandy?' the i ching produced Hex 17>hex 45

I looked up the weather associated with each trigram of hex 17 and hex 45 and I found hex 17 is cloudy,rain,drizzle,new moon/thunder, thunderstorms,thunder showers
hex 45 is cloudy, rain, drizzle, new moon/cloudy, dark misty, light rain

storm sandy occured on a new moon! Hex 17 elements are lake above, thunder below.
hex 45 is lake above, earth below.

The area i was at had some rain and some wind, but not so bad, mostly just cloudy, light rain drizzle and very misty.

To me the i ching is saying 'right now the storm is off the coast gathering, and it is a lake above and thunder below, indicating a strong storm, but when it reaches me, in hex 45, the future, it will turn into lake over earth, which means misty,rainy,drizzle.'

Surprising!

The knowledge about the Yijing and its use is surprising. You are saying that the Yijing foretold the effects of Sandy, the storm, in your area ,with 100% accuracy !? I have been reading a bit on the plum flower mind divination. One curiosity: Did you use the computer to generate the hexagrams of the reading? Coins? Other means?
Thanks for posting your experience with the Yijing so that more people may learn with it.

I am past the mountains in upper state ny, so the storm had to go through their before arriving at my location. The storm died down alot, about 40 minutes away you see all kinds of downed powerlines and trees in the roads and no power/gas. It was very Misty and rainy and some strong winds were going too, but nothing like over the mountain. So lake over earth for the future of the storm was very accurate. Of all the hexagrams i could of gotten, i think this is very telling evidence of the accuracy of the i ching in predicting this particular weather phenomenon.

I believe i used 3 coins six times : )

I've been trying to use the trigrams and images more often in my own readings and this just reinforced that . Very interesting. Even the advice in the Images pertains: going indoors > but ultimately need for caution, not anxiety.

I had heard Sandy was on its way, and thought about getting advice from the I Ching to help prepare myself for it, but didn't think consulting the I Ching would be important. Bad idea! A few days without power or running water (we have an electric well, and had to find public places to shower) and tension, impatience, and anger between family members were rising fast. Should've listened to my intuition I guess...

EDIT: This same time last year we had Hurricane Irene, and there was a second disaster caused by the earth and infrastructure being damaged, and a subsequent nasty storm wound up with more power outages and a sinkhole which has still not been fixed. The same thing is about to happen later this week. Maybe I'll do an I Ching reading tonight.

Last night's reading was:

58.1.2>45

My guess is that #45 "renews his weapons in order to meet the unforeseen" refers to preparing myself. Last time I thought I prepared myself, charging rechargeable batteries & devices and stocking up on alkalines, but forgot to buy more D batteries as well as to recharge one very important device.

The references to "gathering" and "getting together" and "friends" in #58 and #45 could be encouraging me to do a better job maintaining "joyfulness" in the family?

Let me know what you think of my prediction. The storm starts tomorrow.
