Hello,

I am just about to complete my Certificate III in Children Services and a number of people have asked what I'm going to do with it - good question!! I have no idea, I was just doing it and really expecting to get work through my work experience and hadn't sort of thought any further, but now I am. I have a feeling working in mainstream will be very dissatisfying for me.

what will I do with my Certificate - Hex 16.4>2

Interesting as I've implemented my music into these studies.

Lovely answer. It asks you to be proactive, to have ideas, to put things forward, to be enthused yourself and then you will find others easily fall in with your plans or ideas.

16.4 isn't a line whereby you get your certificate and then just wait for opportunities to come in all the usual channels....no no it's much more exciting than that...you get to choose and make things happen. Why not brain storm all the ways you might use that certificate....it may open all kinds of areas of work for you. You can be really creative here, believe in yourself and your ideas and you will be supported.

So think about what you'd like to do ideally....then how that certificate might help with that...it gives you a bit of gravitas doesn't it. You may want to work with kids or young people in an unusual way but you can show you also have the qualification ...

its exciting, have visions, but be prepared to put your ideas and suggestions out there. 16.4 isn't passive it's work but others will respond to your visions. Don't be easily discouraged by setbacks or refusals etc just keep being inspired and you will inspire others too. Perhaps you will be inspiring young people ?

Thanks for replying Trojan, with what you've said it has helped me immensely as I have been losing interest and enthusiasm. Both the teachers and the work experience staff can be quite bitchy in their attempt to be in control. Also instead of just being able to teach the children every little thing has to be written down to show the benefit it has ie. cognitive learning etc. and the learning of all that and the amount of time spent writing it all up can take away from the pure joy of working with children

I have 3-4 weeks left to go and hallelujah it will be all over. In Australia now you must have this particular Certificate to work with children no matter what.

be joyous - Liss

Show me a pic of becoming a teacher of music as the right direction to take

Hex 49.1.5.6>56

Sounds like a good idea but I won't have much support.

You can do the music on the side as a hobby. Play at different places. Shows doing it on a temporary basis and travel is involved.

Thank you cornucopia - one of my ideas was to do just that. Go to different child care centres on different days of the week - like a travelling educator/musician. Does the reading actually suggest hobby?

Trojan thank you as your words have allowed me to push myself and yday proved that not everyone is open to my way but I was able to let it go but continue brain storming ideas. - Liss

Hello Liss, I see hexagram 56 as something temporary, not permanent. Doing it on the side. Part time for extra money. Travelling is involved and you have to be friendly and courteous at every place you visit so as to be welcomed back.
