Sudden work situation

There have been dramatic changes at my work. The co I work for has a main office in another city and my office is a satellite office so to speak. Someone found a meeting notice that had a paragraph about moving my department to that city. It disappeared the next day. The higher ups there deny it. They have sent a team in supposedly to 'help' us but it looks like a massive knowledge transfer.

I asked the Yi.

Are they planning to lay us off?

46.5 to 48

Will we lose our jobs in the next month?

40.2 to 16

My feelings are yes

How can I get the best outcome for myself regarding the work situation?

53.4 to 33

Take a vacation? Leave?

Thank you!

"Are they planning to lay us off? 46.5 to 48"

Hex 46.5 advance toward your goal step be step, slow and steady progress is what is needed now.

Hex 48 suggests that your job is secure at least for a while longer, "you can move the town but not the well", if the well represents the job then it won't be moved.

"Will we lose our jobs in the next month? 40.2 to 16"

Hex 40.2 I would presume that this line indicates that there are touble makers spreading rumors and they must be stopped. So if you carry on at work as normal then all should be well.

Hex 16 this is about working together with others in a friendly and enthusiastic way, think ahead and prepare yourself for the task at hand and all should go well with the job, I don't see anyone being laid off unnecessarily.

"How can I get the best outcome for myself regarding the work situation? 53.4 to 33"

Hex 53.4 this may not be the best job for you but accept it for the moment and make the best of it, so stay calm and don't be pushy or demanding. Things will get better later on.

Hex 33 you are not in a good position at the moment so retreat, not to give up or run away from the job but to retreat back into your work, so stay where you are and make it more difficult for the management to manipulate you. You are not in a strong position if you call it a day because in all likelyhood you will not be able to find another job that easily. Keep away from trouble makers, keep cool and just wait for the right moment before taking any decisive action, wait until you have another job to go to before you quit.

Thank you WillowFox! :bows:

I'll post a little of what goes down as it happens.

Yesterday my boss was fired
A colleague got in trouble for spreading rumours
a specific thing that was on the memo happened.

New question

Can I trust my new boss?

20.2 to 59

"Can I trust my new boss? 20.2 to 59"

Hex 20.2 it is difficult to get an honest and clear picture from where you stand, perhaps you are being a bit fearful of the unknown here, perhaps you are only worrying about your own position and what is at stake as far as your position is concerned, you will have to put yourself in his place to get an idea what he is facing and how he feels. So, see what effect the new boss has on everyone, just not you, then you can judge him.

Hex 59 this person is facing an obstacle to progress in your office and he needs to remove that problem, eliminate it. I think that he will try to get everyone working together for the good of the company, your office anyway, so, to do this he must be open and free of any ulterior motives, he has to be a firm but friendly, fair, approachable captain, a person you can discuss your office problems with.

Update on the situation.

We received a letter outlining an offer to work 4 more months and if we did we would get a monetary bonus.

When asked what about our jobs after that date, the director said their were no guarantees so what it looks like is we'll lose our job then and the bonus is a severance package.

Not sure what other questions to ask the Yi about it.

I don't think that there is a need for more questions here, it is more a story of following the advice given by Hex 53.4 > 33, to stay in the job for the present time but also look for another job in the meantime, prepare yourself for action when the time is right. If, in 4 months time the office does not close down and you wish to stay there, then no problem. Anyway, the 4 months will give you plenty of time to look elsewhere for employment and if the place does close, then you should have another job to go to by then. So, stick with it, keep a low profile, don't get caught up in the office politics and prepare.

The outcome of this situation. I thought I would post about the final outcome.

We were laid off and just finished my last day. They knew they were doing this since the first of the year but lied to us the entire time. A couple of people from that office used my projects to get promotions and bonuses; things me and one other person worked on for months. They got the credit and we got the shaft. There are many unethical people around and I believe you have to trust your gut. If you think something is wrong, there usually is.

I hope you followed the advice to look for another job, if you did then this should not be too much of a hassle for you.

I have been casually looking for work. I started saving a lot back then and they gave a good severance so I will be ok for awhile.
