Tarot daily reading?

Posting this in "Exploring Divination" because Tarot is, afterall, divination. I used to do Tarot readings long ago, but the interest went by the wayside. I do receive a daily tarot reading on my MSN homepage, which I place only marginal interest and trust in.

This morning's reading interested me because, based on the cards, I could interpret very differently than it was interpreted. So, just for grins I'll post it here, in case any of you Tarot folks would care to give your interpretation of the prediction of my day. I'll post what was written later, to compare.. assuming anyone cares to interpret this themselves. The cards read as follows:

Love: the Moon
Touchstone: the Hermit
Career: the Chariot

Anyone?

does your Tarot reading always come in the major arcana cards, or was that just a coincidence?

lately I have been "playing around" with Tarot cards, getting familiar with readings, and the cards, just because I didnt want to feel scared of them anymore. I Ching scared me too way back when (in the olden days, chillens) when it seemed like a fortune teller.

Today, I am no longer afraid of Yi, because i approach him like a friend who has proven to be trustworhy insofar as I sense him to be kindly, prgamatic and open to interchange: my thoughts mesh with his responses and I feel I am in safe hands with YI. He can be gentle, stern,or adamant, but I dont ever feel scared, sometimes chastened and wiling to be taught, other times i feel curious as the hexagrams infer messages that I must apply to my context and understand using my own frame of reference, and intuitive flashes . when you feel like you are having a conversation with a kindly sage, it maybe challenging to hear somethings but i trust the wisdom.

so I have been attempting to find relationship with tarot. Divining with Tarot seems similar to divining with Yi..the better your relationship to the cards, the more clear the massges will be. And as I began to become familiar with the cards, i find them much less frightening, and more helpful.
BUt th Yi seems to have a text which is not as versatile as the Tarot. The cards are rich with symbolism and that seems to expand the field for interpretation.

if using All higher arcana cards, it seems the reading would be limited somewhat. and a daily automatic reading doesnt seem like it would hold too much water, much like a automated astro reading....basic stuff, no real personal meat to cut your teeth on.

that said, Love signified by the Moon could imply a dreamy state, not fully formed, illusory, but romantic.what are you dreaming of? beware of illusions, but embrace your dreams. Also makes me think of the moon cycles..is it waning, or waxing, almost full? or approaching NEW MOON?

the touchpoint signified by the Hermit.........you are the seeker in the dark, use your lantern to discern the truths, you are the introspective discerner, ruled by 9, the completer. The Hermit comes to clear up confusion; he is wise and draws upon internal wisdom; honors need for space/ solitude and works for completeion

career signified by the Chariot. is there a project/idea waiting to be launched>are you ready? impending movement.

the short version:
you are dreaming of love, fantasize the possibilities, sigh
Come out of your solitude and shine the light of your wisdom in the darkness "WHO Goes there? Hello, is it you I am looking for?
I am taking a wild ride on Thunder Road. Care to join me?

Hi Bamboo,

I think only major arcana is used, and it is a general daily reading. No idea how they arrive and divide these answers. Very often it does ring true, but this time I thought the interpretation was way off, and at the end of the day I knew it was.

Your interpretation is actually quite a bit closer to the truth of my day. First, here's the one I'd received:

You're going through a rather solitary phase today, dear Bruce, withdrawing into yourself and maybe feeling a bit depressed. People aren't being sympathetic to your feelings or showing you any understanding. The alliance of the Hermit and the Moon indicates a deep emotional distress born of frustration and unhappiness. Don't let the blues get you down, they will pass. Try looking forward into the future, don't dwell on the past. In your professional life, you're like a Ferrari that's forced to drive through a school zone. There's nothing you can do, the formidable energies that you're getting from the Chariot are hitting the wall that the Hermit has erected! The latter is asking you to slow down and take your time to look at the landscape around you. You need to stop and think before you act - even if you risk a parking ticket!

Your "Thunder Road" is more correct, as my day was charged with high physical energy, while my mind seemed to retreat to the heights. The 'dreaming of love' was a quiet love of life.

Thanks for playing. :)
