Hi everyone just a quick question,
im thinking of going over sees to teach english next year and thought it would be best to ask before i start making plans and preparing.

I recieved 31.2.3.5.6>64
I dont quite remember how i phrased the question but it was somewhere along the lines of "how teaching english in another country would benefit me?"

31 is Influence, which you would indeed have as a teacher of English.

I always take line 1 as a warning not to jump in too soon: One should be moved by a genuine influence, and not an impulse.
2 and 3 sort of expand on this.

Line 5 is about genuine, deep, and lasting affect and affection.

Line 6 talks of empty speech, chattering: Would you perhaps wind up feeling this way as a teacher? just some thoughts to begin with.....

Well thats why im saying before I start planning anything I would like to know how id do.
I would like to travel and experience something different while i'm young, before I plan on settling down.. this seems like a good time, I have no kids and longterm commitments except for school.
I do need my school though so that is something I must commit to, but I figure next year I could put it off and go teach somewhere.

Maybe the last line means something like "you talk the talk, now walk the walk" lol

Ha, that is a very perceptive interpretation of line 6!!! Yes, do this stuff while you are young----why have regrets later on? Good for you!:D

I would favor your asking a question more along the lines of "What might I expect from teaching English in _____ ?" or "What if I teach English for a year overseas?" Your current phrasing in terms of benefit to yourself seems to be leaving out quite a lot of the picture.

I see that your relating hexagram is 36, darkening of the light and injury. It looks like it would be really hard for you to do this.

Hi, Ginnie:

Of course, H.36 says: PROFITABLE HARD OMEN. Say, difficult but no unprofitable. MING YI is not necesarily about darkness and wounds. some authors believe that MING YI is a BIRD. I mysel ftranslate it as BRIGTH & WILD.

Maybe it's the BIRD OF OPPORTUNITY, not easy but profitable.

Yours,

Charly

Hi, Megan:

Have you a contract or a contact? In Japan? do you speak japanese?

I believe that H.13 is about the COMMUNITY AMONG PEOPLE FROM DIFFERENT CULTURES, different extraction, different social classes. A COMMUNITY AMONG EQUALS IN RIGHTS.

H.13 literal translation from the received chinese text:
(1)

EQUAL PEOPLE AT THE WILDERNESS: FEAST.
Commoners joining in the forest: celebration.

PROFITABLE TO CROSS THE BIG RIVER.
A difficult, maybe dangerous task, but profitable.

PROFITABLE NOBLE YOUNG OMEN.
Profitable for a noble-young's consult (divination).
If your intentions are noble, will get profitable results.

13.4:

MOUNTING ONE'S [FORTIFIED] WALL.
Perched like a bird on the walls of your yard, but seeing the outers' celebration.
Peeping the opportunity.

UNABLE TO ATTACK: LUCKY.
Don't seeing different people as strangers or enemies will be fortunate.

13.5:

EQUAL PEOPLE:
Having a community with another people,
Seeing them as your equals.

AT FIRST CRY [AND] WAIL, LATER LAUGH.
The beginings might be hard and difficult but later will smile.
Say, an initiation.

GREAT TEACHER ABLE [TO GET] MUTUAL ENCOUNTER.
Behaving with experience and good disposition.

13.6:

EQUAL PEOPLE AT THE SUBURBS:
Being like a wanderer far from home, far from your centre, in the suburbs of your culture.
Beware: the encounters may become sexual. Be conscious of the possibility of marriage and / or pregnancy [JIAO = SUBURBS sounds like F_UCK]. (2)

NO REGRETS.
Not lamenting the results.

Hard, even dangerous, but profitable. Only you can know if this fit to your case.

All the best,

Charly

(2) Of course, there are many associations with ancient communal rites of fertility, mating of the youngs, customs of the chinese peasants (commoners) and the like.

Pregnant or marriage? whaaaaat lol

I have no contacts or contracts in Japan, and I do not speak Japanese.

I think it is a good possibility, but there are issues I see foreshadowing in 36, the biggest ones being shyness and perhaps loneliness for my family.

Perhaps you should ask what kind of settings, determine which country would be the most beneficial to go to and teach? Perhaps some 3rd world country where you could do humanitarian work and help for your future studies would be a good, more rewarding choice...just a thought..
