I am just beginning to re-read Teaching the I Ching by Geoffrey Redmond & Tze-Ki Hon (Oxford U Press, 2014), and am enjoying it. I'm curious if anyone else has read it, and what your thoughts are.

Yeah pretty good. But I liked The I Ching: A biography much better. I thought the Redmond / Tze-Ki book was oddly weak on the bronze age period. It had at least a chapter on it, but it just seemed to flitter around the edges of it. Here's a link to the Biography book:

I read it only one time years ago but what crossed my mind back then was that they estimate the time for the writing of the commentaries/the ten wings to the fifth to the second century BCE* where Richard Rutt gives it to be from Later Han (AD 25 - 220)**. But they do have a note on this ***

***) ibid, note 4 pg. 141

I've been informed that I misunderstood Richard Rutt here. Apologize. He wrote:
"The book called Yijing consists of Zhouyi bound up with a collection of essays and commentaries known since Later Han (AD 25–220) as the Ten Wings." pg. 363
They were known as ... Not written at this time.
