The thing with private messages and windows may depend on your popup settings - it does mine. Only what happens in Chrome is that if I choose 'open in new window' it doesn't open at all, as the creation of the new window is suppressed.

The 'ghost in the machine' - no, but we have a confused machine. I suspect this is something that's munged because of the combination of Vbulletin monitoring who's online while Amember actually logs people in and out. In the past people have pointed out that someone currently banned can show up as 'online'. Well, under that username they can't possibly be online... but perhaps they are browsing the forum while logged out, or using a separate username, or logged into Amember (from which they're not banned) but not the forum (from which they are). In any case, someone who definitely isn't logged in to the forum shows a green light.

Just checked. I have this site listed on pop-up block exceptions in Firefox options. Also new tabs open in new windows.

Not a biggie here, just thought I'd mention it. Same with the posting delay. I'm used to copying/saving the post before submitting it, just in case.

After I posted the above post I flipped a page and I was out again, a regular occurrence these days.

And no, I don't get this problem anywhere else.

You have access to several computers, I remember you saying somewhere. Try one of them and see if you still have the same problems.

Now, I just checked in this moment but for the past hour or so I noticed that my "green light" has been on all the time and I wasn't even logged in.

Do we have a "ghost in the machine"?

I just checked and apparently the green light means you (the IP) are present, not that you are logged in.

Well, that would mean that the machine can "sense" a presence, so it can see ghosts after all.

Has the clarity site become sentient?
