The American midterm elections

Over the many years, rarely has the Yi been predictive for me. To the point where I started to doubt it really is divinatory. more probative. However it was sharply predictive for me regarding the 2016 US elections, so I thought I would inquire about the Midterm elections.

How will the Republican Party do?
45.1>17.
In 45 we seeing a massing of people in devotion, a gathering of troops around a strong and worthy ruler - fit for the task. The context in 17, Following, hunting - maybe a description of campaigning.
45.1 "Wilhelm/Baynes: If you are sincere, but not to the end, there will sometimes be confusion, sometimes gathering together. If you call out, then after one grasp of the hand you can laugh again. Regret not. Going is without blame."
The commentaries indicates that the people want a unity that cannot be achieved, so influenced by others they waffle. However their doubts are resolved by the reaching out of the leader, and everyone grasping hands, which makes everyone happy.
I think this describes the distress Trump supporters feel from others in society, that causes them to waffle because they do not like the division. But Trump campaigning will make them feel better about their choice and all will be well.
Perhaps this means Republicans keep control of the Congress.

"How will the Democrats fare?"
30.1>56
In 30 we see light spreading forth. In a political context ideology, perhaps a trying to latch onto or advance ideas. 56 the context, is troops that move on from place to place. Sometimes leaving scorched earth behind, one might derive from the image of grasses burning over a mountainside. Bused in crowds maybe?
30.1 " ...shows one ready to move with confused steps. But he treads at the same time reverently, and there will be no mistake." The commentaries suggest divergent purposes crossing each other, and a "glossing up" of the path to try and enhance loyalty.

Will Democrats take the House?
14 unchanging.
They have a lot, but it's not changing, so I would take this as a no.

2016 Presidential Election Reading.

1. What will the results of the election be for Democrats?
6.2: Failing to contend. Returns and flees to his own town people, 300 families.
6.4: Failing to contend. Return and face destiny. Change attitude. Determination about peace: auspicious.
This indicated losses for Democrats I thought, that would cause them to return home to their districts. And perhaps a need to reflect and accept loss. And the Democrats were in fact trounced. They have now lost over 1000 seats in government in the last 8 years.

2. Who will win the Presidency?
18.1 "Work on what has been spoiled." 18.1 is basically about correcting corruption that has been a result of rigid adherence to, or a blind faith in tradition or the status quo.

Trump was running on "drain the swamp"/anticorruption/"Make America Great Again" a need to overthrow the status quo, so this sounded like the Yi was saying Trump would win, but he was 13 points down in polling so his win seemed very unlikely. So I kind of shrugged and decided the Yi was saying whomever won, the problems with corruption in Washington would improve.
Trump did in fact win. This is one of the few times the Yi has been predictive for me, it almost always throws things back in my lap.
