Hallo Cassius,

Several years ago I searched for the connection between the Maya astrology and the Yi.
I was first inspirated by Jose Arguelles, we wrote some inspiring books about the Maya's and also about the connection with the yi.

But I found the following.
In the Los Shu, the magic square, the 8 trigrams are organised around a centre. There are 9 numbers and they are organised around the 5 the centre.
9 = 5+4. The maya's have 20 astrological signs, 5x4= 20. the expression of the 10 fingers and tows.
There are 5 families, from the east,west,south,north and centre. Like the 5 phases/elements. And there are 4 directions ,east,west,south and north.

So I took the 5 familiies the way the 5 elements come from the 8 trigrams (diagram 1)
When you take the expression from the lines, with the so called traces technique.
Trigram heaven to earth is expressed by hexagram 1 is the wood movement , mountain to lake hexagram 20 the fire movement, water to fire 62, earth movement, thunder to wind 19, metal and again heaven to earth 1, water movement.

And XOR them with the four so called kosmick hexagrams, the expression of the four directions hexagram 1, 2,64 and 63 then you get 20 hexagrams.( 64,63,2,1,47,22,34,20,18,17,61,62,21,48,33,19,63,64,2,1)

Then there are the so called 13 tones, a expression of the 13 moons in a year. Arguelles took the hexagrams and changed the lines from the bottum, till it came into the opposite so from hexagram 1 to 44,33,12,20,23 to 2 the 2 was the 7th hexagram this he called the mystic colum, the expression of Karma and then up again to 24,19,11,34,43 and 1 again.

When you XOR these 13 hexagrams with the first 20 then you have the 260 day Maya calender expressed in hexagrams. And when doing this you get all the 64 hexagrams
