In November I'll have to take the most important exam for me so far, that will decide many things down the road. It is a very difficult exam and there will be thousands of us battling for only a few jobs. I started reading 6 months ago but just recently realised that I have to put in much more effort and I just got used with some patterns of studying. Also, I procrastinated a lot, as I tend to do this. If I'd have studied from the beginning how I want to study now, I would have been capable of scoring very high. Now, I'm worried it might be too late.

I asked if it is still possible to score the highest or very close to that, if I study these 5 months remaining. Only then I remembered it isn't good to ask yes/no questions.

63 uc says: at the beginning good fortune, at the end disorder; the beginning auspicious, and the end confused; or succes in small matters (and this exam is anything but a small matter). I don't quite understand this "disorder leads to order, and order to disorder".
I'd like to interpret it differently, but it seems so simply put that the end won't be good.
And also, I am trying to understand how this could possibly be "already decided", completed.

If you could shed a light on this I'll be most grateful. Right now I feel like I'm in between emotions, part of me says that even if it's improbable I can succeed, the other part says no way.
Thank you! This was my break from studying.

What about this one from 2017 - you never came back

nor this one

nor this one

I was going to answer but something told me you don't go back to threads much so there's no point answering.

I know it can be hard to find threads if you don't know your way around but all you do is click on your name, click again, go to 'find' and you can see all your old threads. It takes time and effort to answer, you get it for free, why would you think it's okay just to not return even to click the 'thanks' button. I don't understand that. The only thing I can think of is that you couldn't find the thread but then if you can't find threads you ask questions on then you'd never be able to read the responses.

You can ask yes/no questions as far as I'm concerned. It's tiresome people saying you can't as if it were a fact - it's just their POV

It was a combination of not getting back to the thread/ asking questions without giving them much thought/ forgetting. These are not excuses and I am sorry. I answered them and it was really nice to know the outcome and think about how the hexagrams applied to that particular situation.

Back then I was just asking many questions without being genuinely interested to learn from them. Now I ask only when I really want to know the answer and I pick my questions carefully. I assume I'm not the only one who ignored their own threads and maybe that's one plausible explanation- that people don't really want to go in-depth about what they are asking, they just want to have an answer at that moment and that's it. But that way they learn nothing.

I am still very much interested in some views on hex63:geek:

63 un in my experience is something you already have. So yes, I would think it’s possible to get the highest mark.

Remember to tell us what happened 🙂

Not yet an update, but another question. As there are four months left I find myself struggling really hard. Motivation is lacking, fear and anxiety are rising and I have other things to do in the meantime. It is very much information hard to handle.

I asked what will be the outcome if I change my learning style, as in if I don’t focus on understanding things but just try to memorize them (sounds crazy but this exam is too so this could actually be an option).

Thing is short memory is short and I don’t know if I can do 860 pages that way, but I somehow feel that I can do it.

The answer: 40.2.3 to 62.
So line 2 gives me courage and a sense that I can accomplish this. I hunt a high score (three foxes) I aim at it (with a gold arrow- this new style of memorizing?) and I succeed. I don’t know if the number three should have any meaning.

And then comes line 3 which sounds bad and I can’t even put it in this context. It speaks about carrying a burden AND riding a carriage, inviting robbers to approach. Meaning that I would be overwhelmed, and robbed by success? But that would mean that those lines are the exact opposite.

If you have any insight, please share it. I’m so stressed I can’t even sleep and I somehow want to take note of this advice and want to understand it. Thank you!

Hello;
I'd say yes; perfectly. 63 is about completion, perfection, something "done".

As for the second question, you can hit the score, but you need to loosen your burden- the other things that "rob" your focus. Sit in the golden carriage and ride it to your destination, but get rid of the burden.

Good luck!

The update

First thing to say is that I ended up not studying as much as I could have because I found out I don’t need such a high grade for what I want. So because of this I think the reading can’t be interpreted. However I strongly feel that if I‘d have indeed study harder, I would have managed to be among the first.

That being said, I AM the first (or second, depending on some unimportant factors) that chose in my field, because of my high grade.

I’m wondering if the IChing was on to something OR simply answered exactly what I had in mind when I asked, which was if I’ll be among the first ones among ALL and not among the ones in my subspecialty (back then I didn’t even decided what field I want to choose).

Anyway I am very happy that I found what I want to do and that I managed to be among the firsts to choose this, but I find the reading interesting and wonder if it’s just a coincidence or not.

Any thoughts?

Did you pass the exam?
Yes, sorry if I didn’t explain clearly.
SORRY FOR THE INCREDIBLE LONG POST AHEAD I just find this very interesting and would very much like to hear opinions.

My initial question was if I can score the highest (or close to that) if I’ll do all my best (out of thousands of people). It was important because we choose our jobs in order of our grade (the person with the highest score chooses first and so on, so the people with low scores have fewer spots remaining and so fewer possibilities to choose from) and because I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to do next, I wanted to score high so I can have from where to choose.

Meanwhile I found my dream job which is tough enough that people generally avoid it, so I knew I don’t need the highest score to catch a spot there. Nevertheless I still studied, but not with the intensity and drive I had in the beginning.

I took the exam with a high score. It wasn’t the highest of all contestants, as I wanted when I first asked the question, but I didn’t put in the effort needed because in the meantime I decided I don’t need that anymore, as I said.

So because I changed my mind, I don’t think we can interpret the reading but I can say the I ching would have been right if I’d have respected the condition in my question - to put in all the effort I can and study very hard.

But this is where it gets funny - I was the first to choose the first place in the field I decided on. So all the contestants above me, with higher grades, chose different things and until it was my turn no one chose either of the spots reserved for what I wanted (out of the 9 available).

So my initial question was “is it possible to score the highest or very close to that, if I really put in the effort?” because I didn’t know what I wanted to do, and really wanted to have all the chances to end up somewhere I’d like as this was the end goal, and received 63 uc.

Then I decided what I want to choose, realised I don’t have to be the first to still catch a good spot there, so I studied way less than I could have. This automatically meant I couldn’t be the first one anymore but then again now I didn’t need to.

This is why I say that maybe the answer can’t be interpreted anymore, given the fact that I changed the condition. I always thought IChing answers are based on what’s happening at the moment we ask, and then if situations change or our mind changes then the answer would change to.

But because I still ended up being the first, just not among all contestants but among the ones choosing my dream job, so in a way the Iching answered perfectly right (just not in the way I expected), I’m wondering: did the IChing knew before me what I’ll end up choosing? Or is it just a coincidence that in the meantime I decided what I want to do and I just happened to be the first one to choose it?

It’s like, in my mind initially I needed to be first as to be covered and have the chance to end up somewhere I’d like, I asked the Iching if I can be the first, answer was positive (63 uc, everything is already decided). Then I changed my mind, didn’t fought to be the first, so I was sure the question and answer were now invalid, but then lo and behold I still ended up to be the first - not among all contestants, but among all that chose the dream job I didn’t even know was my dream when I first asked. Coincidence? It REALLY baffles me.

You pass a test and then you choose a job? Wow!!
Here even if you have three degrees there are no jobs to choose from :D

Anyway I am glad you passed your exam. I think it meant that it was sure you would have passed it.
