I asked the Yi if my very recent ex-boyfriend is sexually involved (yet) with a girl he started seeing recently.

I got Hexagram 32.3.5 > 47 (long-lasting changing to exhausting). Any ideas what this could mean?

P.S. - I did a reading before and got Hexagram 29.1, but I thought I'd re-do it since one of the coins landed on my pants leg on the last line. Does anyone have any ideas as to what does and does not constitute a valid reading, as far as errant coins are concerned? Thanks!

When I do a toss and a coin goes astray or I forget what the lines were or what ever, I take it as a sign that the reading is invalid and go forward and do the toss again.

This reading is more difficult because you are asking Yi to sort of spy on him and inform you of what it sees. Better to ask from your own point of view!

Anyway, the answer of the I Ching seems to be that he's a sort of vacillating sort of person. Inconstant and he wants his freedom. He finds it difficult to be devoted to any one particular person.

The H47 could be referring to you, the querant: sense of lacking something. Oh, well, I guess that description could apply to a huge percentage of the population of any country on earth every day. But maybe you got H47 because you are asking from a sense of lack; that something's missing.

It doesn't matter where the coin lands, as once it stops moving then you will have your answer.

Your answer suggests that his new girlfriend is keeping that door locked(the door to the chamber of secrets) which seems to be upsetting him but it would appear that he's not easily discouraged, so his attempts continue.

In practice that depends entirely on how you feel about that throw. If you feel it was invalidated and don't trust it, then throw again.

Actually, it does not matter where the coin lands. It could roll -- and end up across the room and under a piece of furniture, for example. You might have to get a flashlight to retrieve that coin, but that need not invalidate the throw, in my opinion.

Thank you ginnie and willow for your responses!

Huang says about 32.2: "If one in this position insists on moving forward, it will probably result in disgrace." And 32.5: "One has to adjust one's deeds and perspective in accordance with the situation." I know he's rather pushy, and probably wanting to hump on something right away. He's probably trying to move it along faster than she wants. Also, he's probably not focusing on the situation - her - and may just end up making her very annoyed.

From the lines the Yi has given me, that would be the interpretation I want to hear, anyway! *^_^*
