When I got this reading in the morning I thought something really bad will happen. But the enemy was very wise and well hidden.

Daniels
36.1: A difficult situation no matter what you do.

36.2: You can learn from suffering a setback.
15.2: Your influence comes from an inner modesty.
36.3: Matters can improve only slowly.
46.3: There are no obstacles to your advancement.
36.4: The situation is without hope. Leave now.
7.4, Richmond: The army withdraws. No blame.
36.5: Despite difficulties, maintain your dignity.
40.5, Richmond:
The superior man alone can free himself. Good fortune.
Smaller men can only follow.
36.6: The time of darkness eventually ends.
47.6: Realise your errors, repent and move on.

The day progressed, and so did I through the lines of h36.
My morning plans were completely inadequate, and by the evening I had a complete change of heart (7.4, 40.5 and 47.6).
The enemy was my mind, and only him :)
There was an aspect of 46.3, I did cause the trouble by myself, there was no one to stop me :)

An excellent advice, by Wilhelm:
In adversity it furthers one to be persevering.
One must not unresistingly let himself be swept along by unfavorable circumstances, nor permit his steadfastness to be shaken.
He can avoid this by maintaining his inner light ...

I shouldn't have allowed myself to be swept along, yes.

h6, Wilhelm:
Thus in all his transactions the superior man carefully considers the beginning.

I should have thought more about the consequences of my actions before actually doing them.

I see h36 as literally - darkening of the mind, temporarily. After which comes the realization that outside forces are strong enough to resist my movement (h6).
And if I was sincere (h6 warns about that) and just kept to myself, all would have been perfect.

Very accurate description from Yi! It appears that 6-liners are not so mysterious after all.

Hmm, I got a different sense about it.
The person is going his way, doing ok, resisting outside influences (going through a strife) on his own (6).
But then he allows himself to be swept along by some negative force, forgets his way (36), goes to the darkest place (36.4) realizes the error and returns back on path.

So he wasn't in a bad place to start with, I see your idea as being already in a dark pit of 36.4 and going from there.

Not necesarily ! It can be an idea you are confronted with. And you didn't mean to. Its like a friend of mine, she always ends up making her religious propaganda even if I told her more than once not to do it. Last time I found myself about to argue again and then I realized I didn't really mind what her concerns about religion were, it's just that I don't want to hear about it ! I told her good night and that was all. It's just that after that I'm not really keen on talking to her any more...
