Time for social interaction or inner exploration?

Hi there

I have just recently begun to consult the iching oracle and Im not very confident in my interpretations, so any help here would be much appreciated.

Im in a small dilemma regarding my activities in a couple of days. I've been invited to an event, but am also considering spending that evening in ritualistic solitude with mushrooms.

when asking the oracle what will happen if I join the event, the answer was: 25.3.4 --> 37
when asking the oracle what will happen if I stay home and eat mushrooms, the answer was straight up: 51

Can anyone help me deciphering the meaning of these answers?

They're both a bit ambiguous, but between the two, I'd choose 51 (both due to the answers, and personal preference).

King Wen's text of 51 is so fitting for an evening with mushrooms.

Psilocybin can be shocking and even frightening at some points, but almost always ends with laughing and a sense of ease. There's another symbol here however, and this is the ritualistic solitude portion you spoke of. The lower nuclear trigram is Mountain, which in many cases represents a Temple. The sacred temple is the human body. However, in this hexagram, the ruler is in the 1st or 5th line. A person is shocked outside of their body, but does not lose the sacrificial spoon and chalice. They do not lose, and in this case in fact gain, their potential for spiritual exploration. They are flung outside their body briefly, but surely come back in the end.

Now, 25.3.4 > 37. Here there is a sense of partaking in the event, but from a distance, as in 25 the yang line stays back from the other three. Not being yourself, and/or throwing yourself into the event with persistence results in misfortune. The 3rd and 4th lines are in unfortunate places in relationship with each other, again suggesting misfortune. However, on the flip side, if you do remain "innocent" and step back a bit, there's a potential for a fun time and strong relationships with others. 37 is a close-knit family or clan.

I don't like the outcome of line 25.3. This is the line where a tethered ox is led off by a traveler and the townspeople suffer the loss. That's thievery and the loss of something valuable, isn't it?
