Time sensitive JOB issue - please reply!!!! Hex 14.2.3.6 & Hex 36 Unchanging - URGENT

I have been trying unsuccessfully :( to get away from my very dysfunctional work team for about 4 months by applying for and interviewing for other jobs, however I have had NO luck yet. I have gone for 3-4 interviews for about 4 jobs only to get rejected with positive feedback. Today, I was pulled into a meeting with my manager and the manager's boss. I was given an ultimatum to take the role I was doing 3 years ago (a demotion in title but not in salary; ironically they offered more $ for the lower role) that I was promoted from OR take a severance package. Both options seem to have pros and cons.

So I asked the Yi, what will happen if I stay. I got hexagram 36 unchanging.

So I asked the Yi, what will happen if I leave. I received hexagram 14.2.3.6 > 51.

I have NO idea which way to go right now. I appreciate your interpretations. I would also appreciate any advise or anecdotal experience about going one way or another.

Background: I have been with my company for 10 years and have progressed up until now. My team has a lot of dysfunction. The company itself does not make the numbers it used to make in the division I currently belong. I am OK doing what I do. I don't love it. Most of my coworkers are messy and dramatic. But it pays the bills most of the time. They are offering more money for the lower role but I would pigeon holed (limited to no opportunity to grow in other more successful parts of the company for now - no more merit increases, maxed out in role due to title) and it is a demotion on paper (something I have to explain in future interviews). The package would offer my salary to the end of the year and a raise with healthcare etc.

I'm sorry for this terrible situation at your work. Both the answers sounds bad to me I'm afraid. If these were my answers I really wouldn't know which the lesser evil would be, wound or shock. My experiences with both 36 and 51 have never been good.

I Ching apart, it makes more sense to stay in your current company till you find another job. Ok so that will be a dark unchanging 36 ... but at least you won't be unemployed, and as you've said it's not super easy to find something else.

I guess staying is the best option, while continue to look out for a better more satisfying job.
I believe that one should enjoy the job in order for it to transform from 'working time' to 'happy hours'.

I think 2nd reading just answers the same question, about the whole situation.
The possessions(14) are shaken up(51).
14.3 mentions a sacrifice (in title), accept it.
14.6 Heaven will help eventually, be humble.

For me 51 always appeared as a reminder not to over-react. No real harm was done to me.
Wilhelm:
Shock comes-oh, oh!
Laughing words -ha, ha!
The shock terrifies for a hundred miles,
And he does not let fall the sacrificial spoon and chalice.

36 - Keeping your principles and wishes to yourself, although no one around understands you. Waiting for a better time, for your chance.
I'm well accustomed to that. Not easy, but not that hard either.

Thank you both! I get the overwhelming gut feeling I should take the package. I feel by staying I would be set-up to get laid off with no package in 6 months time. I haven't been able to sleep or eat since the meeting. The most suspicious thing is that if I stay they are making me take a pay raise with lower title. In the past, when people are getting paid thousands beyond what others in the same role were they were forced to quit with no package or take a severe pay cut. I think staying is setting me up for that. And because I keep getting excellent feedback from the 3-4 interviews I had for the 4 positions each internally, I feel my current management team may be saying something underhanded about me to negate the good interviews. For example, a manager on my team who I have never reported to sent a passive aggressive note to a hiring manager for one of the roles saying that "she has run her course here but would be good for your team". The office politics are terrible. I have 48 hours to decide.

Well if that's the standard practice, and you don't really like the job and the gut feeling is so strong .. then why not.

14.2 does point to a mobile vehicle. Collecting things and moving elsewhere..
