Time sensitive reading 50.4.5>57

I asked "Yi, please show me an imagefor going to Senegal with X later this month."
The lines are what i'm asking for advise on here.
If i'd gotten the 4th by itself i would decide not to go but with the 5th line i'm left wondering.
it seems it could override the danger of line 4??
Iv'e been on the fence about this trip for a while, mostly worried i might get sick since iv'e never been to Africa.
This is my only period of time off for a while so i also asked about going to another destination here in the States and got Hex18 -Unchanging, which is fitting for whats going on with me and at that place.
Ticket should be bought by tomorrow night.
I am thankful for any advice.

It does sound like something will go wrong (50.4).
However, 50.5 shows a good transport, and 57 is mild and persistent.
All in all I think that, although not everything will go smoothly initially, then the trip will be good.

I would be going to a very large spiritual gathering and probrobly be the only outsider. I hope i don't make too much a fool of myself (Line4). What i am more worried about is the "soiling of the person" which could mean getting sick.
Sounds like you are saying Line 4 may not be such a heavy danger and that 5 will come after and help..

The other destination i asked about is the Standing Rock reservation in North Dakota where many friends native and non-native have been in touch with me about coming to help. Could the Work On What Has Been Spoiled have more to do with the work i would be doing out there? or is it personal work that the reading speaks of?
Right now i'm leaning back toward Africa. I have till midnight pacific time...

I must admit the same thought also crossed my mind about this line.
However, because of 50.5 and resulting 57, perhaps 50.4 can be avoided if you're extra careful.
The problem in 50.4 is that the legs of the cauldron are broken, and the food is overflowing.
Maybe be super careful with noticing the hygiene of the places where you eat?

As about 18 unchanging, I personally never had any positive results with it.
However, especially because the other location is called Standing Rock, and 18 shows wind at the feet of the mountain... maybe it could mean that it's an apt place and you'll help your friends out.

An image for going to Senegal is one of complete change of circumstances. It will be very different from what you are now experiencing. You have a sense of curiosity and discovery. I see an image of going that it can be warm and colorful place.

Standing Rock, and 18

This is a nice image for Standing Rock. Wind is work over the long term. Mountain stands firm, unmoving. There is change manifesting. There is also the stale air of old ways.

These are two very different places. It depends upon what you want to do. What do you want to experience? Where is your interest? Where is your curiosity? What feeds you fire?

Thank you Maggie. My main reason for posting was that Line 4 in in my reading for Senegal sounded like it could be very serious in some of the books. It also ends up i can't use my miles and will be much more expensive than i had planned. I am taking one more day to sleep on it.
In the meantime, any other thoughts on the reading are appreciated.
If i decide not to go to Africa then i will for sure go to Standing Rock.

You question was about an image for Senegal. I think line 4 is an image of the political instability of Senegal. It is movement in the upper trigram which is the outer situation, There are difficulties and aid is needed. Line four is magnetic with line 1, which is a weak line. It is the minister needing assistance and the help is not there or too weak.

Since you asked for an image of Senegal I think that is what the image refers to and not your own personal situation. Just like H18 is an image of the situation at standing Rock and not your own personal situation.

For me comparing these two places as a destination is like apples and oranges. Deciding where to go depends on the kind of experience you are looking to have. Also you are considering cost factors. Which one has a greater pull. My own personal question would be which would be more fun. But that does not seem like your concern here. Maybe you are wanting to make a difference or have a memorable experience or be inspired to write. I don't know. I feel the images and the questions will answer a deep knowing in you.

I asked for "an image for going to Senegal with X later this month". I think it has more to do with my journey there than the outside stuff you mentioned. just trying to get clear that the 4th line is not necessarily "evil" as one book said.

The original text of the Yi in Chinese does not contain the word 'evil.' My sense is that there is some difficulty, perhaps not getting everything expected or hoped for, but all turns out well.

I'm afraid the word 'evil' is right there in the Chinese text of line 50.4.
凶 = xiong1 - evil / bad / famine / unlucky / unfortunate / fear / fearsome / very / excessive / excess
However, because the next line is good, and so is the resulting hexagram, the bad omen of 50.4 can be overcome.
