Hi:

I was reading an interpretation of a changing line at 6th place and it said:

At the top, you cannot go forward.

So - is the top line the end of the hexagram?
Is there no way to go beyond the final interpretation of the meaning of the top line?

Is there a way out???

Thanks,
Rosalie

Hi Rosalie

I Ching has it's on numerology. 6 is the limit. So, is the end of the hexagram

When 6 is active by 1 (The Whole) 6+1=7
7 is The New Time, the new age.

It means, after 6 line has fulfilled, came the 1 line of the new hexagram (but not to confuse this with tendencial hexagram)

Because of this, after 23, the six line re-birth as the first line of 24. This is just one example

Another. In 19, the judment say "after 8 months, pitfall". But, if the noble acts well, he can avoid pitfall, but arrive to 46.

Best wishes

When viewed from a structural rather than temporal perspective, line 6 covers issues grounded in the pair of 02,23 - the hexagram as a whole is favouring an unconditional (02) or conditional (23) 'bias' in expression. (in 02,23 in particular the focus is on devotion (cooperative form) or darkness (competitive form). 02,23 in their cooperative forms reflect issues of unconditional devotion of 02 vs the conditional devotion of 23.

In their competitive forms reflect the absolute, unconditional, nature of darkness (02) vs the conditional form where 23 covers the last bastion of 'order' prior to collapse (and so a 'need' to preserve that order to avoid collapse)

If we work our way through a hexagram all the way (we recurse it) then there are 64 'line position' states where line 6 is position 32 - there being 32 more 'positions' to cover!
