Last night I got woken up (around 2am)by this noise I couldn't identify. This morning around 8.30am I heard the noise again and I see it's a farm tractor coming back from wherever it went. I realise now that over the last 5 months I've been woken up in the middle of the night by this tractor before.
Why on earth would you be driving up and down the road at the time of night unless you're up to something illegal or somethin'

What is the tractor being used for in the middle of the night

Hex 45.3.4>39

It looks to me like there is a gathering of some kind Hex 45 which is causing some sort of trouble/difficulty/obstacle for another Hex 39.
The only thing that comes to mind, that I'm aware of, is that there have been roadworks going on for quite a while but I don't feel it's relevant but thought I'd mention it in case I've got it wrong.

This is a mystery. Apparently there is no equipment on the tractor or you would have seen it. I can think of no good reason for a tractor to be on the highway at that time. It's not safe.

Travelling cross country from North Wales to London after a long Dancing/meditation session - it was about 11pm. It got foggy and I got lost and I became tired. By now it was about 2am. I was going to stop at the next village when out of the fog came two lights - high up travelling behind me. There was a noise getting louder.
Wether it was the dancing or I was tired but I thought it was some alien thing - the lights looked to be hovering above the hedge.

I pulled over and waited to be consumed ... It was a very loud noisy tractor - what on earth was it doing at 2am I have no idea ...a farmer friend suggested later that there was illegal killing badgers which were then dumped as roadkill. Generally anything on the road at that time of night is not usual ...

I just thought that with your reading to 39 I think that it is not up to you to confront directly rather go to the authorities or even the Police. I have a sense that the tractor shouldnt be there at allWhenever I have had a change to 39 there has always been a resolving of the issue - but not directly through me.

Hope you get it sorted and a good nights sleep

Thanks butterflyspider - well if I can find out what they're doing then I can report it but I don't know unless I follow them but they'd be sure to spot me out here in the sticks which is kinda why I asked the question hoping yi maybe able to enlighten me or at least give a hint. Gosh what a scary moment for you!

Yes - one has to have self-preservation in mind. However if you kept a note if times and dates this could be useful later...

I have just been sitting having cake with my son and asked him what could be causing a tractor to be roaming about at 2am in the morning:
An underage person or bank robber hoping to learn to drive one hoping they won't be seen
Burying treasure or something illegal
Someone who is an insomniac
A very clever dog or pig (or kangaroo)
A punishment like in Cool Hand Luke
A person doing their job who has an allergy to sunshine
Someone testing out driverless tractors
An engineer testing underground strength at nighttime
Someone who wants to exterminate nocturnal vermin
Someone paid to test out highly secretive devices
A bulb company testing out new night lights in tractors
Government mission in the area
A spy in disguise
An unknown factory taking workers by tractor as a decoy
We were going to continue but he had to return to his revision
Someone nicking stone or other resource was his choice....
My own theory is::
Aliens leaning how to drive a tractor

Seriously though this feels as if someone else will intervene or you will find out why
I am sure that it is something perfectly obvious ..

Haha we should always listen to our children - they seemingly have no judgement just hear/see what is truth - I think someone nicking stones might be closest to it - as in someone nicking road gravel for their property nearby. Good luck with his revision and impending relevant exam/s.

Butterfly, I love all the ideas your son and you came up with! What imagination / brainstorming skills :D.

2 a.m. is certainly the dead of night, but 8:30 a.m. isn't. (Google tells me sunrise in Sydney now is 6:41 a.m.)

So if there's something nefarious going on, the person isn't making much effort to hide the end of it. (Plus, as you've found out, the noise...)

You mentioned roadworks...I kind of agree that doesn't sound likely. In a city area in the U.S. they do sometimes try to do road work overnight to cause less disruption for commuters, but I don't think that would apply to the countryside. Plus farm tractors and construction equipment are not the same thing.

So maybe Altair139 is correct and Yi is telling you not to worry about it, or if you ever do actually find out what it's doing then the reading will make sense?

Ha ha look what LiSe Heyboer says in her 45.4 commentary:

One can put one’s ideas to the trial, help each other in materializing abstract thoughts and develop an idea along many different paths.

Maybe the answer really is on Butterfly's son's list somewhere!

The only other things I can think of are (1) along the lines of being allergic to the sun as Butterfly listed, maybe someone would rather work at night when it's cooler? That wouldn't apply right now (Google, again), but it might have over the summer. Or (2) someone who's in college or has another job, and the only time they can do whatever they're doing is at night? Or (3) maybe the tractor itself is only available at night, if someone else is using it in the daytime?

What is the tractor being used for in the middle of the night?
45.3.4>39

In 45 Kun is the trigram of soil and food, and Dui is the trigram of the mouth. Hexagram 39 suggests difficulty in moving. From this I think the tractor is being used to move the large rolls of hay that are now used to feed livestock. But why in the middle of the night? Perhaps we have an insomniac farmer. Some morning, flag this tractor down and find out what is happening.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts - it's a curious thing it's being done at night for sure.

If I flagged the tractor down he'd probably tell me to mind my own business. I'm very aware there are things that go on around here that many or most turn the other way and mind their own business.
However if it's thieving then it's a whole other thing.

Pocossin that sounds very close to the mark. The farmer right next door just did all his bales and then moved them to higher ground all with his tractor but yes why would you be doing it so early in the morning - somethings not quite right to me but hopefully I will find out although I do only have about a month of living here as the owners have sold the property and the new owners wish to have my garden flat to live in while they renovate the main house so sadly I have to move yet again.

Not if you handed him a bun and a cup of coffee at the same time :) Sorry you are having to move again.

Haha good point!! yep just when I'd finally found a place I love despite the initial hiccups.

Well I'm moving in a couple of days so I'm never gonna find out it seems, but I just got this same answer for another question! - Liss

This may be silly or more than you care to do, but could you follow the tractor when you are woken by it? Far enough behind so it's not real obvious you're following it?

(I could actually see that being against the reading, esp. 45.3 which says "No direction bears fruit," so probably never mind. Although since I have no idea what the reading actually means, who knows.)
