Trying to get pregnant...

My husband and I started to try to get pregnant with our firs child. Last month, I asked how my cycle would go, and got 3.6.. and iching was right.

I decided to test it again this month and asked how will this cycle go. I got 51.1.5.6 > 12. I"m quite stunned on this one. If I don't get pregnant this cycle, it certainly won't be a "Shock" for me. Could it be I will learn something about my cycle, health, etc that will lead to 12 obstruction?

Curious what you think about this reading.

No, 12 is not the outcome as in the result but the overall situation the question arises in. Here it would seem to indicate that sense of not getting anywhere. I hesitate to make predictions of pregnancy but 51.1.5.6>12 looks a pretty good auspice to me. Read 51.1. First there is shock then laughing. 51.5 is very busy dealing with the shock. Suddenly there's things to get ready for ! 51.6, hmm that might describe that as you get accustomed to being pregnant others around you gossip a little ? Not sure about the 51.6 here. Yang pattern in 42, Increase, yin pattern 31. To me this bodes well.

But if you do get pregnant it will still be a shock even if an expected one. The thing is you won't know till it happens how you will feel. But this is not shock in the negative sense, it's more like upheaval, as you realise it's real and your whole life is going to change and all those things that come with having a child. 51 is not always sudden it can refer to all kinds of upheavals.

Perhaps take my reading with a pinch of salt because I cannot predict pregnancy. However I see this as a favourable cast for someone who wishes to get pregnant. You know it can be more of a shock to get what you want than not to get what you want.

I definitely have to agree that hex 12 has been the situation for me with regards to starting family for years. I am in a hex 12 frame of mind so much so that the only true shock would be if I got pregnant lol

I will be carefully optimistic and if nothing happens this month, I will conclude that IChing is just off by a cycle or two and that my happy shock will come in it's due time... I will keep you posted

I've seen 'shock' to sometimes refer to sex.
So if that's what's meant here, then lots of it...
...but 12 = heaven and earth (male/female element) don't meet.

Of course I hope I'm totally wrong!

I think I know what 51 meant! Pretty funny actually. Last month I started using ovulation prediction tests and bought an "advanced" digital one. Well last month it came back positive very early in the cycle and this month literarily on day 5, which would indicate something is wrong with me. I got so worried! I searched the internet for answers on hormonal imbalance, called to make a doctors appointment, until someone advised me to buy a different test... less advanced. Well, turns out the one I had must be giving me falls positives or just now working properly! Nothing made sense when I used it.. everything made sense when I changed to a different test. I was alarmed, and now I'm laughing. This sounds like 51

Feeling like I solved my mystery, I asked iChing again if this cycle will be successful, and got 3.4.5 to 49.. I guess still some kind of revolution is brewing...

Try to stop trying. Just enjoying being with your husband. When there is so much pressure to reach that objective of becoming pregnant, we forget to relax and enjoy our partner. Perhaps some of your "shock" will come from becoming pregnant when you least expect it.

Don't be concerned, Yi gives 3 very commonly with regards to pregnancy-- in fact, my own gut feeling is it is Yi's signature for the energies that brew around conception and pregnancy. Not that it is a sign of perfect auspiciousness or nothing going wrong-- but that potent energy is in play. I concur with Trojina, I think on the whole these are affirmative castings, BUT the most recent one 3.4.5 into 49 seems to be saying "don't force it". 49 shows the total revolution that will happen in your personal and family life when you do finally have a child. Line 5 of 3 particularly says it's not helpful to rush. Take it easy and I think it will happen in due time.

In my personal experience, when related to female matters, 49 means 'period'
('shedding of skin' I suppose). So maybe this cycle will end with a normal period.
