Tutu Bags 16>35

As part of my new business I’m going to sew kids clothes and accessories.

What if I make 10 Tutu bags to sell around Christmas
Hex 16.6>35

Line 6

'Enthusiasm in the dark.
Results bring a change of heart,
No mistake'

Definitely being enthusiastic about something I’ve never made before so I’m going blindly into making them.
The results may make me change my mind about the idea.... but no mistake to at least start making them!!
Interesting to see what happens when I’ve made my first one!!
On further reading it's seems this reading indicates I'm under and illusion about this idea.....I wonder what part is the illusion, the making of them or trying to sell them at Christmas.

I agree with your interpretation to start by making one and then let the result guide you as to how to adjust your business plan.
If you are "under an illusion" here (what'd you get? 22?) it's probably just that you can't know whether this is a workable plan - making or selling - until you make a few.
The main thing from my point of view is that you got encouragement to go forward so something good should come of this I think!

That sounds good and makes sense - I don't understand how it isn't a good idea especially as I already have an order for 3......

It's a exciting idea, but you'll change your mind after practicing it.

That's possible - it may be too tedious for me. I like creating but not things that take too long to make when I know I have to make several of them plus I have other ideas that may take priority.

I'm getting a lot out of making the bags for my client BUT unless another order comes through interest from others when they see hers I won't be looking to make them again. She's very excited about the progress (I send photos to make sure it's what she's after).....so that gives me joy in making them for her.

You are correct - it's way too tedious and time consuming for me.

16.6 in my experience shows you get initially quite excited about something but it isn't quite as you planned however you are satisfied in the end with the reality that presents itself rather than the vision you had. That's the 'change of heart'.

I recall getting this line when I thought I'd been given a job as a support worker in the new big city centre college and I was excited. Turned out I had to go to smaller colleges out in the suburbs and help out with more basic stuff. However I came to be quite content with that and perhaps it worked out better than my initial ideas about what it would be.

I don't see that you have to give this up completely but maybe you need to rethink it as discussed above. It's a bit like a 'curb your enthusiasm' line, here too much enthusiasm is counterproductive, you can chill out a bit, make less demands on how you expect this to be. If you do that there's good fortune. There's still progress here potentially but you may need to pace yourself more or even reduce the complexity of what you're making ?

A Tutu Bag is just a childs' tote made to look like a tutu.....Last week I saw a little girl with one in a cafe and that's what gave me the idea. I was telling my client about them and she straight away said I'll have 3.

You're right Trojina I'm still thinking on how I can make something that appeals to a child that a parent is willing to pay for without the complexity of putting it all together - the photo is the first one I made the other day.

I wonder if there's an adult market too, maybe in darker colours.

Do you sell on etsy ?

I've not noticed any little girls here in the UK with those bags but I'm not around little girls much though generally I haven't picked up on them as a trend here. I know unicorns are big with small girls right now, all the backpacks are unicorn themed. Maybe the UK is an untapped market ? Maybe we're behind Australia in the tutu bag trend, not
sure.

£9.50 on etsy. You could sell worldwide. Now I'm doing the 16.6 building it up. Anyway I think you can still sell them with some adjustments maybe.

A friend told me it's quite expensive to sell on etsy though.

Thanks for being so interested Trojina - I love sewing and creating but not making the same thing over and over. The plan was just to make them for Christmas presents and post them on my local facebook pages via my business page and Instagram as they are highly effective in reaching people in this smallish community.
My main business really, is my present training in being a Kids Yoga Teacher but a neck injury has managed to delay that for the time being so just looking for ways to get my business noticed as I will also be making Yoga clothes to go with the teaching.
