Two Beautiful Paths

Asked about a course of approach... asked about two emails i wrote and which i should send.

with one i received 8, unchanging. with the other 41.5 to 61.

Any comments??? Please and thank you!!!

Hi Deb...

I think the second answer, the fifth line of 41, is telling you that you got your answer already... with the first question and casting.

I get a giggle from one particular line in Brad's notes on this line...

"You got your Yahtzee already, stop counting"

Hi Deb,

Not knowing the nature and spirit of each letter makes it difficult to apply the reading, but I'll try.

8 implies you are holding yourself together, not losing your grip, not letting go. You also are in touch with others who have become a part of your life, and who may have some influence on your path, and you are obviously holding to the man in question.

41 says to reduce the high energy you're putting into this matter, which often takes the form of anger, hurt, confusion, disappointment, etc.

Through your decrease of the lower you will assuredly receive an increase of the higher. From this vantage you will know without question which of the two letters to send.

Val, yep, I think you're right and I'll opt with the first one, the "8".

Candid, you're right too, i'm not losing my grip, not letting go. And in touch too with those influencing my path... and astute of you about that man in question : )

it seems (trying to be objective here) he's holding on to me as well... for the time being anyway. He prompted this, as well as initiated from the beginning... and i'm unfortunately a bit bold and rather stupid when it comes to men.... being the eldest of four daughters and no brothers, and my dad passing right before my 21st b-day. and being my dad's "boy". so, i've had some hard lessons to learn about the man-woman thing. but maybe i'm getting there : )

but, anyway, this was a response to him and to a work-social setting--- a combo response to his flirting and letting him know he had a little competition (albeit different marketing focuses) in work associations...

and it's turned from anxiousness and remorse to having a little fun, regardless of the outcome, so we'll see.

According to my chart I'm a double double Libra, so i see a lot of different angles at different perspectives... unfortunately it makes it very confusing on some levels, but they say variety is the spice of life... and i'm getting my fill, but only to 29.5 : )

8 is positive, but says to repeat the divination.

41.5 is one of the most auspicious lines in the Yi.

I'd go with 41.5.

I had forgotten that about 8... i did end up sending the 41.5 because of the line and because it changed to 61.5 fan yao.

61 won out over 8.

I'd love to add something to think about in interpreting 8 and 41.5.

Here's the deal. Keeping in mind she's communicating with a consciousness...whether it's within or without is irrelevant, I see a conversation going on here. Deb threw and got 8. The Yi said "Cool... seeking union... holding to the man...good idea... now throw again." She threw again. The Yi said "Jackpot."

41.5 is about divining a second time... just as she was advised to do by the Yi in her first throw. From "The Mandate of Heaven," I learned that Keightley believes the Shang diviners cracked tortoise shells in sets of five pair. If they got a really auspicious reading with the first set, they would often go for a second set to try to get a jackpot... as it were. 41.5 is about getting that jackpot with two sets of five pair, or... doing the math here the blonde way... 10 pair of tortoise shells.

So in 8, they told her to crack another set of five pair about the same issue, and in 41.5 they said all 10 pair are highly auspicious.

I'm really wondering if it mattered which email she sent. I think seeking union with the man was the important thing to do. I believe that's what they advised her. Sometimes they don't tell us what we think we want to know; they tell us what we need to know.

Well, we'll see--- i did choose 41.5 to 61 over 8 after all, so it may not be easy but still a good thing, and maybe the better thing.
