I have the choice to either buy a used car from my dad or visit a really good friend out of state this October.
The used car is a bit of a risk seeing how it has been through a couple of accidents and has an issue with the frame as a result of a collision.

The visit to see a friend serves a double purpose. I am considering relocating to this city and want to get a feel for the place before I actually do move there.

Should I visit this place in October? 64.1.2.4.6>24
Instead of visiting in October, should I buy the car? 9.2.3.5>27

Which seems to be the better choice based on these readings? They both seem positive, although the visit appears to have a deeper impact overall.

It seems that during the long time from now to October.. something will happen and you will not move on....!!
and also there are a minimum of 3 to a maximum of 4 lines moving in each answer you got!!!

Hey there

I just saw this quickly but 24 generally means to me at least that you will return to your correct path.

In the second reading it speaks of not moving forward which could possibly relate to the first reading or could simply be where you are at now NO CAR but when you look at 9.5 then that could possibly be that both you and the person selling the car are getting a good deal and are happy they get the money you get the car

That the way i see it

Please dont message me and say the car broke down as i cant see what you are buying haha
but i like 9.5 in relation to business deals

PS its your Dad who is selling the car so in most cases a father would look after his daughter. Has it been fixed surely dad is not selling you a terrible car
i would seriously consider the car at least, u may have some wheels then u could go on the holiday later.

Maybe others see the opposite however i am just going by what the lines are telling me.

The vehicle would be out of the question for me, based on the reading and past experience with repaired accident damage vehicles, especially one with a bent frame. Thanks, dad, but no thanks. Even "The spokes burst out of the wagon wheels", if taken literally, which Yi sometimes seems to intend, is a bad omen.

Here an attempt is made to press forward forcibly, in the consciousness that the obstructing power is slight. But since, under the circumstances, power actually lies with the weak, this sudden offensive is doomed to failure. External conditions hinder the advance, just as loss of the wheel spokes stops the progress of a wagon. We don't yet heed this hint from fate, hence there are annoying arguments like those of a married couple. Naturally this isn't a favorable state of things, for though the situation may enable the weaker side to hold its ground, the difficulties are too numerous to permit of a happy result. In consequence even the strong man can't so use his power as to exert the right influence on those around him. He experiences a rebuff where he expected an easy victory, and he thus compromises his dignity. 9.3. Wilhelm

Besides this, it could wind up causing hard feelings between your dad and yourself. Plus, the vehicle could nickel and dime you to death. No way I'd go near it. That would not be nourishing yourself.

The visit with your friend and also checking out the city as a place to relocate looks pretty open and inconclusive. To and fro goes the way, so why not look into it? Just keep your wits about you. Is how I read.

Also, owning a vehicle in a (real) city can be more of a pain than a benefit. I'd wait to experience the city and some public transportation, before deciding to invest in a set of wheels. Meanwhile, it shouldn't be very difficult to get around a city without one. And you certainly wouldn't miss one which breaks down on you a lot.

Having looked at the two choices I would select neither.

The car does not appear to be the right way to go as there appears to be something else wrong with it and your father doesn't even know.

As for the trip, again no, there are various reasons and even Hex 24 indicates that one should not travel in the "winter" months.

Thank you, everyone for your responses.

I talked to my father some more and he told me that he tried to get the car inspected to renew the registration, and the car did not pass.

Apparently, it has too many issues with the engine and the frame is considerably weakened.

So, he is going to sell it to someone just to get rid of it.

I asked again just now about taking the trip to see my friend ("should I go see so and so in October?") and got 26.1.2.4>56 as my response.

When i did the original readings last night I was in a very negative mood and I wasn't sure if that had affected the outcome or not.

The field of work I am planning on entering (selling real estate) requires having a vehicle, so no matter where I move, I will need a car just to show properties and houses to clients.

Thank you once again for the input. Apparently those of you who said the car was not a good idea were right. Good call.

Since I am moving to Seattle in a year or so, this trip up there would help me immensely. I just do not want to incur any danger or what not by going up there.

Not sure if I should take the resulting hexagram of 56 as being literal or not. Seems kind of humorous to me that Yi would give that as a secondary hex though.

Thank you!

Yes, 24 definitely could have been steering you back to yourself, but maybe not only that. Though I never take 24 as a firm "no", it is a question of good timing when to to and when to fro, lol. In your 26 lines there is the same kind of reversal from pressing forward with this idea right now (as in 24). There's the image of removing the axles from the wagon, again, and restraining the powerful bull.

You must have a lot of energy building about this? Don't be discouraged with holding back for now, because that energy is being stored up for later, when Ti Ming says to enter public office, according to 26.

Still, it doesn't mean idly waiting, but wandering about to and fro, gathering information, learning about the field you plan to enter through doing your homework. 'Knowledge is power' is appropriate for 26.

Yes, there is definitely a lot of energy around this and I am still playing it by ear, though I do hope it works out.

I still have a ways to go before I can have enough money saved up to ensure all my accommodations are secured, so I can see why Yi is telling me to hold tight.

Thank you so much for your input!

The lines of Hex 26 again back up my other reading not to go in October. Therefore to wait until April/May next year.

Thank you, Willowfox! I might just have to do that. Is there a certain way of interpreting dates using the hexes?

I know a few of them actually state months or seasons but I wasn't sure if they all mention months specifically.

Not really, it just gives me the thought that after the "thaw" comes travel as Hex 26 lines are again advising restraint or maybe that you will yourself be restrained from travelling.
