Happy Saturday, Clarity seekers!

Yet again another health related reading. I'm not falling apart (at least as far as I know ) but I received an interesting casting which gives me an opportunity to learn.

The background: so I've had an on-and-off sharp pain in my lower abdomen for years now. It's been repeatedly investigated, even recently, and nothing has transpired from medical tests. The pain has been occasional and never too intense, so other than making sure all is as should be I've not particularly worried - that is, until today, when it got so strong it woke me up from my night sleep and did not go away. I have a business trip upcoming shortly so thought it best to have it checked again. The doctor confirmed the past diagnosis: there is nothing wrong (good news) so the pain's cause remains unknown (bad news). I got some anti-inflammatories and that was it.

I'm cool with this solution as long as it minimizes the risk for me to have to rush to the ER while travelling, however the mystery remains. So I turned to the Yi and asked: Please give me insight on this pain. The response was 16 unchanging.

ENTHUSIASM. It furthers one to install helpers
And to set armies marching.

Hm. Search for helpers. Does that mean I need to consult another doctor? There are no changing lines which seems to indicate the situation is stable. I searched the archives and was struck by a comment in a thread about the same reading: 'much ado about nothing'. This resonates and is also a bit eerie since a couple of days ago I heard exactly the same quote over a totally different subject.

Has anyone received the same casting? What do you guys make of it?

Yeah, I'd go with the idea of seeking second/third etc opinion ..

weirdly the first thing that popped into my mind when I read your post is that someone I know has had the same problem for years (they can't walk it's that bad and the doctors were unable to find anything) until they went to a different doctor and were told that the pain was caused by a prolapsed disc in their lower back.

Have you tried an alternative practitioner? Osteo? chiropractor? acupuncture? Qigong.. G'luck

Thank you for your interpretation Grace. No, I've not tried anything so far since the pain has never been strong - just made sure through ultrasound / examinations that all (well, all doctors thought could be involved...) is in order. As I said this has been going on for years now... although more recently I've started feeling a pain in the leg on the same part and I suspect the two may indeed be related.

Generally speaking I tend to trust my body, if you see what I mean... the problem is to understand it!

H16 has to do with readiness, and also uncontrolled movement and excessive enthusiasm. It sounds like something is out of balance...The nature of this reading makes me think you should be doing something like yoga or tai chi, some controlled movement that would move energy around the body in a positive, but controlled way. Also long slow walks.

I would avoid things that generate extra energy right now...

Finally, you might have the beginning of something like colitis or ileitis...western medical terms that ends with "itis" are all inflammations, and will be undetectable at early stages by Western medicine until the symptoms get worse. Please look at natural remedies for these, vitamins and herbs that are strong anti-inflammatory helpers.

You do not want whatever this is to progress to be detectable by doctors; you want it to gradually diminish and go away.

Curb any excesses in your diet and habits...consider seeing an acupuncturist to balance energy and diagnose from the Eastern perspective what the imbalance is.

My first thought was that 16 has the H pattern of the Virgo constellation, and Virgo rules the bowels.

No, it means you need to delegate more. Hard for a type A personality, I know, but it's for your health. Bowels -- archaic, the seat of pity or the gentler emotions. There have been mentions of inflammatory bowel disease at Clarity -- can't find them at the moment -- but several have recommended a gluten free diet.

To me Hex 16 has to do with illusion. Like the way music is created. It is a bunch of sounds, but when arranged in a certain way it seems to create an emotion, a scene. How do you measure what is music? It just happens.
I think the pain may be a stress related manifestation of some other worry that you are not coping with (your upcoming business trip, maybe.) Maybe you need to delegate some of your responsibilities. Stop trying to be a one man band.

Turmeric is a natural anti-inflammatory. And all you need to do is add it to your cooking. Peppermint tea is also helpful if you are suffering with your stomach/bowls.

Are you drinking enough water? The pain in the side could be dehydration.

All things that you could try that definitely won't harm you but I would also head for a second opinion with another doctor or herbalist. Pain is your body's way of saying it's not happy somewhere.

Hope you feel better soon.

Update

Thank you all for the additional insight, and sorry for not updating this earlier. So, long story short, the pain went down but stayed there for several weeks, other medical tests were made confirming the absence of any major issue, I was accepting the idea of living with it as I had done for years... then suddenly, a couple of days ago, it exploded. Now it's moved lower, to one side of the pubic area, and it's much stronger. I find it difficult to walk  I saw the doctor and the latest diagnosis is pubalgia...

I turned to the Yi again:
Q.: Give me insight on this pain.
A.: 17.4 > 3

I can't find any connection between the changing line and my situation. What do you guys make of it?
