After many years of satisfying and enjoyable use of my iMac I decided to replace it with a new one ….. Big Mistake. After about a year of moderate use my iMac started to develop faults and glitches which got worse and worse, leading to daily phone calls to Apple Technical Support and four visits to their repair depot but the faults continued and I have been left with a beautiful looking Apple that has a somewhat bitter taste, and my warranty is about to run out.

My early readings on this issue indicated a positive outcome but I have been finding these increasingly difficult to believe. A recent reading turned out as follows:-
“Apple will not replace my iMac if these faults continue after my warranty expires.” 35,4,6>2

The Taoist I Ching: 4th yang: Advancing like a squirrel, even if correct it is dangerous. Hexagram 35, Li over K’un, can be viewed as enlightenment over the receptive, the receptive multitude place themselves below the enlightened in order to gain understanding. If the mind can be kept clear of complicated speculation the greater the likelihood of truthful perception and subsequent ‘Easy Progress’. However, the squirrel was seen as having a limited range of options which could be interpreted as describing my overall awareness as being partial and incomplete. Even though my argument might be correct, any approach to Apple for a replacement computer would be met by a rebuttal. The line-resultant, Hex 23 Splitting Apart, describes the self-erosion that this process is producing.

6th yang: Advancing the horns; this requires conquering one’s domain. There is danger, but it bodes well, so there will be no blame. But even though correct it is humiliating. This indicates forceful illumination, not content with passively holding to the assurances I received some time ago my mind/ego is now seeking to force a resolution to the issue hence it requires being brought under control, "conquering one’s domain.” The line resultant, Hex 16 Enthusiasm, could be describing the deluded enthusiasm that is driving my restlessness.

The Parallel Nuclear Progression: (39,3,5-2)
3rd yang: Going leads to trouble. Come back. When there is too much adamant hardness on the brink of danger, to go on would lead to trouble.

5th yang: Great trouble; a companion comes. The mind of Tao is covered by the human mind - this is called great trouble.

Both readings clearly recommend that I take no action for the time being. The final outcome is not yet clear but will, I feel, become clear if I can modestly accept my present position.

Hi peter2610,
I cannot find anywhere in your post what question you asked to the I Ching. How can one put the answer you received in it's contest without it?

All the best.

I think Peter's post is intended more as a statement that an appeal for suggestions which is why it was originally posted in Exploring Divination, then for some reason was moved here.
