Hi,
I've recently given a presentation for university, and it was pretty much beset with difficulties. First, another group got an extension from the previous week and so our allotted week there were three presentations to give in only 1.5 hours. Each presentation took around 30-35 mins.

Then, the projector shut down during the presentation and there was a slight delay while we reset the projector. Finally, the tutor stopped us without warning during the presentation (before we had finished) as the class time had run out.

We received our mark today, and it was a credit.

I do not believe that the mark we received was representative of the work we presented (or were allowed to present). I believe the tutor to be against us, unsympathetic and unfair. Quite simply, we addressed the attributes in the assessment criteria at minimum for a distinction (some points perhaps a high distinction).

I asked the I ching: What happened with the presentation?

12.1.6 to 17. This was exactly as I feared, I believe we did to the very best but that our achievements could not be seen.

given our grievances, I believe we have a case to make a complaint and request for re-mark. I believe we should make a polite request to discuss this matter with the lecturer and course convenor.

I asked the I ching: Can the mark be changed?

43.5 to 34

I think it can be changed! What do you think?

Of course it can be changed.
Just go and ask to present again
as it appears the first group was given
the opp to change
so go ahead and ask.

I'm afraid the mark could not be changed.

I went and spoke to the lecturer, who asked to have all the documentation forwarded to him for consideration.

He gave me the indication that our work was good, and that he would change the mark at the end of the semester. However he just sent me an email indicating that he was not going to change the mark and that the mark we received was appropriate.
