Hello, this is to be decided very fast. I have seen this very handsome apartment just out on sale, not expensive but it perhaps may turn out to be too expensive for me in the end.
So I asked What do I need to know (about my life) if I buy M apartment? 41.3,4>14
I get the feeling that this is a message about balancing things out-offering 2 cups, empty or full, its about getting some balance in my life-hopefully loose some bad baggage, as Bradford says, evening things out and making the decision to buy-scared I will have no money to cover additional costs etc, but the place is a good offer to skip out an it will be snatched in a day or two.
So what does it say to you? Thanks for your help :bows:

My feeling is that this is a good chance to move onward but there is something bothering about the whole scenario

I like hex 14. It feels like a friendly aunt - like going to tea with cake and buns. Homely and comforting

However it is telling me that there are 2
Scenarios at play here - and to be honest Inam finding it difficult to interpret. Is there something in the background that needs to be added here something that you need to solve before you make your decision

Richmond, 41.3:
Three going in company will lose one. One alone finds company.
Three symbolizes transition, change. Change is what the journey is about and during it we may become polarized in choice and so become two and lose our wholeness, one.
...
If, on the other hand, we are alone in our wholeness and do not choose we have the company of all things.

41.4. Reducing the number of his mistakes, others come to him in happiness, no error.
When we are not always choosing our aims, our future, all the other futures we would not choose are available to us; these others arising spontaneously are happiness.

Transitional hex is 26.4:
The headboard of a young bull.
A headboard over the horns was used to restrain and quieten the bull's too-high spirits. The image sees this as an advantage to the whole

All lines say wait, there will be other opportunities (26 Great Potential, 14 Great Possession).
Outer world lines (3 and 4 ) are inactive.

I know this is a late response. I hope things have worked out.

Personally, I think this reading sounds very favorable for taking the apartment. I think you're right about balancing things out for 41.3, and I think 41.4 says do this and do it now.

Something I recently learned from listening to a podcast of Hilary's (though I don't remember which one it was in order to link to it, sorry) is that while 41 means sacrifice, it never asks us to sacrifice more than we can. She explained how that comes from the last line of the oracle, which says, "Two simple baskets may be used for the offering." Two baskets - not everything you have.

She also makes the point in her commentary that in hexagram 41, what you get will be worth more to you than what you give. In your case, I think it might mean that even though paying for this apartment will stretch your budget (but not to the breaking point), you won't mind all that much, because in return you will have a nice place to live. (And what a relief, after all you've been through.)

Here is Hilary's entire commentary on hexagram 41's oracle. Read it over - I think it's quite reassuring. (The underlining is mine - it's what I think supports that last point.)

"The ancient Chinese character for ‘Decreasing’ shows a hand with a vessel to pour out in offering. To decrease is to pour out and offer up, and so to have less. You focus your faith and hope on something higher than your everyday life, and sacrifice lower things to this. When you do so with an undivided heart, it opens the flow of good fortune from the source, and your life becomes lighter and simpler. Since it is hard not to be in two minds about giving things up, the oracle offers reassurance. Even when you have little to give, making offerings is not wrong. This is a good time to trust your insight and persevere. And having a direction to persevere in, you understand why you are making this offering, rather than dwelling on what you are giving up. You may still wonder how you can do this, or how much you are expected to give. The oracle answers: the offering need only be modest and sincere – not hundreds of sheep and oxen, but just two baskets. You are not asked to give beyond your means."

I think 14 as the relating hexagram reflects your anxiety about being able to afford this. 41.4 seems to address that, too, in addition to saying be quick about it. Here is Hilary's translation:

41.4
‘Decreasing your affliction,
Sending the message swiftly brings rejoicing.
Not a mistake.’

So, what do you need to know about your life if you buy this apartment? You will decrease your affliction.

(Please let us know what happened.)

Well, still lots of stress so I waited as wanted to write something useful IC experience wise. But sorry, no use.
We agreed on price-still the buyer could have asked for more but started with an reasonable price, so I had to be the first with the offer and on the 9th we went on with the down payment. I have also a deadline approaching, so no time for more chances, as oddly enough, I overslept one such chance as my agent tried to reach me and I was fast asleep and sick so did not answer the phone...
In my country the seller can ask for any currency apparently, even it is not really legal, so I am all in knots about exchanges and rules and how it will be worked out due to currency fluctuations etc. The seller is still making up its mind and I could loose money in that process which is thin anyway.
And in addition, people scaring me to double-check for scams. It really does not help my stress.
And there are kittens to be housed suddenly-in odd number :)

So I have to agree with Lisa`s interpretation-one has to make an offer and try to level the demand.
I still cannot be certain what the 2n line was referring at...it did come out that the price will be lessened by the long term, now small credit on the apartment, so the price to pay is lessened by that sum.
A week latter and I am still happy about this decision. Funny thing, on the way to the bank, a pigeon pooped on me, which is considered good luck (almost never happens to me)...

I asked also
To which extent will I be able to cover the costs of sale and moving? 19.6 into 41
Not quite sure it is all that favorable an answer, as those philosophical broad ones are suspiciously optimistic.:eek:uch:
Line-6
Legge: The sixth line, magnetic, shows the advance of honesty and generosity. There will be good fortune, and no error.
Wilhelm/Baynes: Greathearted approach. Good fortune. No blame.
Blofeld: A magnanimous approach -- good fortune, no error.
Liu: Benevolent approach brings good fortune. No blame.
Ritsema/Karcher: Magnanimity Nearing. Significant. Without fault.
Shaughnessy: Thick forest; auspicious; there is no trouble.
Cleary (2): Attentive overseeing is good and blameless.
Wu: Condescending with honesty is auspicious, etc.
Hua-Ching Ni: Sincere advancing. Good Fortune. No blame.

It feels that I will have to make do with modest means and joy of fixing the place up as I find necessary will escape me. It also speaks of the manner of dealing with people/issues, I believe...any interpretation o this? Thank you:bows:

My guess is that 19.6 > 41 is a continuation of the previous 41.3.4 > 14 reading (notice that hexagram 41 is in both readings, connecting them).

I think it's saying that the purchase and moving expenses are part of what the prior reading was talking about - a sacrifice, but not more than you can afford, and it will be worth it. I believe 19.6 is the attitude Yi is suggesting you have towards this - the generosity it mentions is likely generosity to yourself; you're making an investment in your life.

I'm sorry there's still so much stress with this. But after everything that has happened, I'm really happy for you that you have this opportunity.

Thanks again Lisa.
Makes sense, since it is a continuation of the current unresolved situation.....41 ongoing, sort of speak.
I often find that IC is referring to my current state of mind... as I am more and more angry and have a slight feeling certain helping hand may turn out despot like and I just wish for unchangeable things to be different, this feels like a warning to check myself:
Should this line change (its mandate and correlate with line 3), the hexagram would become Sun-41 to diminish (those below so to enrich those above), which should be avoided.
Recommendation at this stage: to untiringly approach others in an honest and reliable manner.

Oh right, kittens... this male cat that wondered in over a year ago is very selfish and had chased away a black kitty 2 months ago (who waS also abandoned in the park) so she just returned after I fed her, spent a few days with me bonding and brought 3 kittens...which I have no idea what to do with and the new owner says its my problem. I am taking the selfish one with me, he has a thing for me and I think he will process better a move with the same owner than with another. I will not post any pictures, it would just be so cruel...

Oh, what a dear little thing . Bless your heart for taking care of them.

I had a situation once also where one dear cat chased away another dear cat. I know they're just being cats, but it's still sad.

He is just being himself. PC010011.jpg I feel sad I will have to abandon her to the neighborhood, and it will be a success if kittens find homes. Needless to say, not much enthusiastic help from needed places. This apartment is situated perfectly for pets, shame new owners have no inclinations...sad topic

Is that the mommy? :weep: Poor beautiful sweetheart.

By chance have you asked Yi for guidance? I'm sure there's nothing to be done - I think it's the same situation the world over, with cats - but getting Yi's comments might help with acceptance, I don't know.

No, no, that is the master of the castle. Very angry, may I add P6200127.jpg That was him and this is her, a year ago, before the life of sin and street fighting and wretched adulthood sneaked upon them P8030226.jpg
I did not cast for them, partly because one knows what needs to be done, partly because I do not want to get a bad answer.

Well then he is a very handsome sweetheart (despite occasional lapses in sweetness ;)). And the new kitten looks just like his or her mommy!

Casting...I see what you mean, though I hope Yi wouldn't give you a bad answer (yell at you) for something that's beyond your control.
