Ive been using the IChing for years but this reading baffled me. Maybe im not facing the truth, but i asked the question:

Has x slept with x and here is the reading i got:

Hexagram: 37
Changing lines: 3rd, 4th and 5th...

Is this referring to me? I asked the question about them? Please advice your views on this, it will be greatly appreciated...

Yes. 37 suggests intimacy and 21 regret.

It seems to be saying yes they have .... possibly the cause of gossip or discord (?) and best not to talk about it.

It is a difficult reading but seems to be saying them sleeping together could be cause of discord.

Hi Cas and welcome,

As you clearly differentiate between "you" and "them" are you possibly a parent or do you have similar guiding role in this situation?

I also notice you only mention 37.3.4.5 and not the relating hexagram 21 which 37 becomes when lines 3, 4, and 5 are changed, so am not sure if you regard the relating hexagram as important. I see the relating hexagram as an inner core kind of place a reading comes from, so do find it valuable myself.

That said, imo, 21 indicates your seeing things as on your shoulders to address this difficult situation as respectfully and fairly as possible (shades of 21.2 - 21.5) which does not likely receive a favorable response from the x's who are coming from a place of having little sense of consequences for their actions (shades of 21.1 and 21.6).

For 37, I am going to guess that yes, Yi is referring to you as reflected in the true blue lines 4 and 5 dealing with the squirrely x's of line 3.

Have they slept together? I think Yi says more importantly how is 37.3 being addressed? Too much severity causes remorse. Too much weakness leads to disgrace. If in doubt, error on the side of being too severe. :bows:
