Using to I-Ching for precautions into Astrology

So I (somehow - I guess they synchromystical currents of reality) have stumbled upon Astrology and been looking into what it says about me. I find some of it revealing - and some of it defiantly off (perhaps i'm missing some details or they are).

I'm interested in this however and have actually gone to an astrologer before who did a Horary analysis to see if I was "Cursed" - having been trying to mess around with understanding magic and blah at that time cuz my mind was restless board needed a new frontier. So I paid this guy some money and he came back with a reading that strongly suggested I was "cursed". He said it would get better with time. That was about 2 years ago.

Black death night of the soul indeed. Purposeless suffering and confusion - leading nowhere and back. Anyhow...

Never talked to the guy again just got on with my life. Seemed like a cool guy - sincere and ready to assist - but defiantly a businessman nonetheless.

Anyhow I was reading a bit of this astrology stuff. Seems to calm allot of my inner conflicts - as it tells me that this is part of who I am. I like allot of what it says. Makes sense to me - of course I don't like the negative side of it. Furthermore allot of it I find dead wrong. Like I'm a virgo and supposed to be extremely modest and conservative - but i've never followed traditional crap even for a millisecond of my life - not because I think they are wrong - just because I don't. I just don't. But Virgo's are supposed to be like a super anal-retendent - conservative - predictable. I seem to have definite traits that conflict with this generic image. I can't even predict what i'm going to do next! I just can't see this Bartleby the Scrivener personality in me!

Anyhow I thought I would look into astrology - found out there was more to it.
There is a Sun sign and then there is a Moon sign. And then there is a Rising sign.
And then there are all the planets. (Wonder if they count planet X or Niberu eheh)

The thing I fear is it telling me something like - Oh your relationships in life will all be bad. You'll end up a eccentric loner with no friends. (like i am now for example).

Actually I did a sample without knowing my exact birth date and it did say something like that. I have had miserable luck - (Impossibly bad trash cunning evil almost plotted designed for misery luck) in relationships.

... I don't want to hear anything bad like that.

So i'm taking it that it means.

1) It's a good idea at a basic level

2) Don't worry about the outcome of what is charted on this analysis - that way you can succeed in doing it.

5) Don't worry about being cursed?

Any comments or assistance in this stuff? What do you all know about astrology? Anyone here have like damming birth signs that say your life will be an utter failure no matter what? lol? :bows:

You are genuine, but go about your business, and take no medicine,
"not yet". The answer is telling you that you already feel that this
guy is not the real thing. He has made you feel bad, and that is not
your fault. If you seek the remedy in the guy that caused the 'ailment'
to you in the first place, what can you achieve then? Sounds like a bit
of a bad idea. 64 does not mean "Go ahead and cross the water", it
means be careful, very careful, when you're crossing that stream.
"Hurry quick Run!" - again, on the contrary, don't run, but take each
and every step with utmost caution here. All in all, the advice of
that guy sounds a bit weird, to say the least.

Go on and ask the yi, "am i cursed?". Apparently "cursing" is a very
delicate notion, which very much depends upon one's beliefs on it.
No good to go about believing you are cursed. And in any case,
haven't you watched all the films? For any curse, there's an antidote.
Except, it seems you don't need one. See 25:5. I'll risk a "you're fine",
here, but don't take my word for it, i'd really recommend asking this
very question, "am i cursed?".

Yes but "Am I cursed" is a yes or no question.

Something never any good to use the Yi for.
Every time I've asked a yes or no question it has led me down a pointless and meaningless corridor of confusion.

And I don't believe I am "cursed". I speculated about it. But...
Whatever. I like to speculate about almost anything. So I don't need to go and cry tears of blood on the pages of the I ching in harrowing fear of being cursed.

However I did ask the Yijing about the whole thing involving that question to the (2 years ago too) guy.
I remember what it gave me it was:

56.6 - 62

So whatever that means - OK .

I guess I associated with people and was careless about my interactions and was
impulsive in paying that guy to answer that question. 62 be careful next time.

Or perhaps it's saying yea: some guy cursed you while you were out - because you were careless and arrogant. Now your injured (62) and doomed. lol. But I doubt the I ching is backing up that guy.

More like my carelesslessness in dealing with this strange idea led to a guy taking my money and
giving me useless advice - I won't get anything useful out of it.

I guess I just don't really worry about that. Superstitious.
I don't know anything about that stuff - I don't associate with curses or spells.

All is changing. I trust the processes of life.

So effectively I don't believe in it.

He of course had the remedy: a 250 dollar metal cast talisman - BS - but they look cool though.
It was too long ago. I'm not resurrecting that again.

This isn't really about your I Ching reading, but I think it is telling you that astrology can open up your world.
In my experience the I Ching and astrology complement each other very well, astrology providing the general background of what's going on in the world and your relationship to it. The I Ching is better for specific things to your life.
Astrology is about cycles and learning how you relate to the world. It will tell you things about yourself you may not like to hear, but it always shows the way to fix the more difficult aspects of your personality and make you a better person.
You don't have to pay people to tell you what's going on in the sky above you, everything you need to know is online. www.astro.com, www.cafeastrology.com, http://www.bobmarksastrologer.com/TOClessons.htm will more than get you started. Make sure you know your birth time and place.
