vacations or work

Hi everyone,
Next week the company will close for one week so everybody will be on vacation.
I have to take a decision regarding my vacations. Should I go or should I stay?
I should go because I’m really exhausted and my batteries need to be charged!
If a stay it’s a great opportunity to catch up all the unfinished projects because I ‘ll not have the daily thing to do as the office will be closed.

I want to take a break and I want to catch up. Which will be the best thing to do ? not know !!! So I asked.

1.what if I stay and work ? 12.3.4.5 > 52
2.what if I don’t work ? 39 no changing lines.

Does the Yi says me stay and catch up or I see it that way because this is the best thing to do ?

How would you read those answers?
Hope you help me on this.

Personally I would take this as favouring staying home and catching up. However perhaps also theres a middle way ? For example you could catch up on your work for part of the week and maybe just have a day or two away ? For some reason i see part of your 12 answer as saying perhaps you are a little too worried about your catch up work, perhaps it won't take as long as you think - maybe its the 12,5 making me think this - an element of worry you've not done enough especially with the shame in line 3

Also if i have a decison like this i would add a 3rd question which would be simply 'go or not ?' - I know some would say this can give a confusing answer but for me i usually get it straight away after considering the first 2 answers.

Hi Trojan,
about line 3 you are right. I know that I should not feel like that since I actually do the job for two people (due to cost reduction reasons).

About the middle way , I was thinking also about this. One -two days away could be a neccesary brake.

You propose a 3rd question 'go or not ?' .Although I don't feel very comfortable with such questions I toos on that and I got 42.

I thing it says that whatever I decide there will be a benefit ??? I see it as GO and NOT GO. Weigth the the pros and cons and walk on the middle course.

Influenced from LiSe's 42 I imagine the vacation time as the rain and the decision here is which pots I should put to catch the drops or the minutes of this 'free time". Seem to be an easy answer. All the pots !! the ones with the"work" label and also the ones with "have fan " label. Because who knows when it will rain again.

How do you see 42 in this context?

I love your interpretation of 42 here, sounds good. It does seem the middle way, a few days doing work, a few days away would be a good option.

BTW I thought you meant that you would be catching up on your own work if you stayed, you know things you needed to get done for yourself. Do you mean still working for a company in vacation time  that doesn't sound reasonable - I guess it depends on the kind of work etc

I think you will at least have a clearer calmer mind (52) if you do some work then go away for a short while because things left undone won't be worrying you or weighing on your mind. :)

Hi Maria,
Regarding Hexagram 42, it makes me think of how you can best use this week when the business is closed, in the service of the business and your family.

If you use it to catch up on your work, then you will have given them the gift of the work being done. If you use it to rest and recharge your batteries, then you are giving them the gift of a rested and recharged participant.

Which of these (or in what proportions) will serve them best?

hi Cesca,

You are rigth about the advantages of each "gift".
the way I see this that if i choose A then B cancels or reduce the positive effects of A and vise versa. So I decided to do a little of A and a little of B. Hope it works .

Thanks for your help,
