The original purpose of these gatherings is to share readings - but if there aren't (m)any readings, we also pool our ideas on hexagrams. (We've been making our way through the Yijing's 'nuclear families'.) Recordings go in the private Change Circle Library, so it's a safe place for readings.

How to share a reading

If you're a member of Change Circle or WikiWing, and if you will be at the gathering, you're welcome to share a reading. Here's how:

1. Post the reading in the usual forum - Reading Circle, or Shared Readings if you're not in Change Circle.
2. Post a link to your reading on this thread.

That way you can keep forum discussion of your reading together, and separate from other people's readings.

On the day of the gathering, I'll check this thread in the morning (UK morning, that is!) before I email round the Zoom link and also let everyone know what we'll be discussing. That way everyone has a chance to look at readings (or other things) in advance. So if you want to share a reading, please post it here nice and early.

Dream Story

I had a dream that when looking out the window of my house I noticed that all sorts of stray animals had taken up residence in my yard. They were clustered in families, cats, dogs, sheep, foxes, etc. they all looked very comfortable, and ‘nested” and didn’t look like they were about to go anywhere. They were all docile and getting along, and all resting, but the numbers of them were overwhelming and there was little yard left. I had no idea what I was going to do with them.

The community of practice that i had been leading voluntarily for 10 years and resigned last February 2020 - there had been a Yi consultation and my own heart searching and it was definitely decided to go.

It is now starting up under new leadership and i was taken aback by the force of the feelings that arose in me when i read this.
I would like to attain a lovely neutrality or indifference to the community of practice and be ablke to attend the meetings in this way as i love learning. i had been very emotionally attached to the club and felt underappreciated .

Anyway my question was: how to be with the new community of practice:
Reading: 42.1.6 to 8.
I like the 2 hexagrams and the first line seems to suggest that this is an opportunity for new beginnings.
but line 6......is this me now or me in the furture - i dont like the idea of the heart and pitfall - i had enough of that when I was leading the community as I put my heart and soul into it.
thank you for all the guidance i get here - it is of immense value.

Above all i want to be magnanimous, dignified, gracious, etc.. these words came into a reading i had on cliarity very recently on a similiar. question.

Reading for the Well 7/22/21

Disclaimer: This is a bit out of the ordinary for an I Ching reading and takes some liberties from the ordinary conventions. If it strays a bit to far for a Well reading I completely understand.

I came to I Ching from first learning the Tarot as a form of spiritual guidance. In the well gatherings there might not be a big interest in Tarot. So if there is a better place for this post, let me know.

One of my Tarot reference books attributes an I Ching Hexagram to each of the Tarot cards. So I decided to take a look at the correlating Hexagrams and see if I felt that the Tarot card was conveying similar insights as the correlating Hexagram. Some of this is curiosity and some of it is me questioning the validity of the correlations.


For lack of a more pressing question I asked: What are my next steps in spiritual development??


I drew a three card tarot spread. Ace of Disks, Aeon/Judgement, and Justice

The correlating hexagrams are:

34 Great Vigour correlating to the Ace of disks,

24 Returning correlating to the Aeon/ Judgement

21 Biting Through correlating to Justice



Ace of Disks signifies to me new growth, new beginnings, things pertaining to the material world; home health finances etc.

Aeon/Judgement is about birth, renewal, awakening expanded perception, redemption, transformation becoming oneself..

Justice objectivity, self realization, balance, fairness discernment, reasonable decisions, clear objective perception, inner understanding of our destiny



From the tarot cards I get that I have been looking to the outside world to learn how to move forward spiritually, but I need to look inward for self realization, inner understanding, and transformation.


Since the Hexagrams were selected and not cast there are no changing lines, but I read the lines that changed between the first and second hexagram and the lines that changed between the second and third hexagram. I noticed that the trigram Thunder appears in each of the hexagrams

Hopefully after a Well Gathering discussion I may have a better understanding of how I feel about the idea and validity of correlating Hexagrams to Tarot cards.
