last minute reading for circle change.....

17 years ago today I had a text from a dear friend that changed my life for so much the better.
I asked Yi for an image of the evolution of our relationship since that text.
received 40.4 to 7....

We're back! It does seem a long time since July. The next Well Gathering will be this Saturday, 14th September, at 7pm UK time. If you'd like to bring a reading on the day, please share a link to it here now! (That way people can look it up and prepare a bit - if you post at the last minute, I'll have prepared and announced something completely different.)

Here's how:
How to share a reading

  1. Post your reading to the usual forum - Shared Readings or Reading Circle (for Change Circle members)
  2. Post a link to your reading on this thread.
To post a link -
  1. Copy the url of your new thread. (On a computer, that just means highlight the address in the address bar at the top of your browser and press ctrl+C. On a phone, if you press and hold in the address bar you should get a 'copy' option.)
  2. Come back to this thread, click the 'post reply' button and paste in the url you just copied. (Ctrl+V on a computer, or press and hold in the reply box until you see a 'paste' option on a phone.)
If copying and pasting is a problem for you, just post a reply here with the title of your reading thread, and I (or possibly a friendly moderator!) will edit your post to add the link for you.

That way you'll have a separate thread where people can post their thoughts on your reading, and that won't get entangled with Well Gathering admin things.

No, not too late. Let's have a look at both of these - that will give us plenty to discuss for an hour or so.

I cross-posted because I didn't see the other post until just now. I am curious to know if other people play with multiple divination systems when one of them is hard to understand. I'm fine if we decide not to cover this :teapot:

I have been kind of lost all year. It's stunningly hard to get a job if you're over 60 and I dread today's interview. Î've been really happy painting but I can't get into selling...I panicked when a friend wanted to buy something and just sent it to him as a gift because the situation felt so "MLM" to me.

I realize that's neither realistic nor reasonable and yet I can't get around this problem. I did sell two astrological readings to other people, and even that felt uncomfortable.

This is really touching something close for me. Feels kind of vulnerable. But I'll throw it out there.

The point of posting the thread in Reading Circle is so it won't be publicly viewable, Google-able etc, unlike the public forums. We'll discuss it tomorrow and Mellee can fill in the background for you then, but the reading itself isn't made available for non-members - not unless Mellee changes her mind and decides to post it publicly, of course.

Two readings - or possibly three - will be plenty to keep us occupied, thank you! See you later :)

If you're a member of Change Circle or WikiWing, I'll hope to see you this Saturday! 7pm UK time as usual (you can check that here) - and if you'd like to come and bring a reading to share, please post a link to it on this thread, so we can have a look before the call. I'll email you the Zoom link.

Here's how to share a reading:

It seems sort-of inevitable that we will be talking about the election and its consequences, doesn’t it? And 49-50 is a very interesting pair of hexagrams. Let's look at this one. See you later!

Excellent, thanks - we'll discuss that one, and if there is time to spare we can talk about 51 and/or 49 more generally. See you later!

Saturday is Well Day! 7pm UK time in the usual Zoom room. (I'll email CC and WW members with a link.)

If you'd like to bring a reading, you know what to do: post it to a suitable forum, and link to the reading thread from here:

Since there are no readings, I've just started looking through the recordings in search of comparatively neglected hexagrams. The first I came across was Hexagram 9 - Small Taming / Tending. We haven't discussed that much at all, so let's enjoy a deep dive into Western altars, dark non-raining clouds, wind over heaven and all.

See you later!

It's Well Gathering week! All Change Circle and WikiWing members (and if you're not one of those, there is plenty of time to join before the weekend) are warmly invited to join us on Zoom to share reading and/or general Yijing experiences this Saturday at 7pm UK time.

If you'd like to come and bring a reading, please share a link to it on this thread so we can have a look at it in advance.

⏳⚠️⌛
New rule this month: you need to post the link to your reading here before I send the Saturday morning email. (That's a UK morning, so if in doubt post by Friday!) That way everyone knows what to expect when they show up for the call.

Here, as ever, is...

Can I post a reading for this Saturday that a very good friend of mine (not a clarity member because doesn't speak english) asked me to interpret?

I'm dithering about this, but on balance I don't think it would work. Our usual rule is that the reading's owner has to be present so they can hear and respond to people's ideas directly, and we get the full conversational quality of the reading. Obviously that can't happen if you have to go and translate for your friend afterwards, and they have no way to send feedback or ask follow-up questions (unless the people who were on the call happen to be available on the forum too).

If your friend is OK with you sharing their reading, I think it would work best for you to post it to a Reading Circle thread, which gives us time for some more to-and fro.
