Ok I do not post much, but as I live in England , I thought I would post a reading about these tyrannical murdering mobsters. Well I always meditate early morning to get the perfect energy vibe ,and only consult maybe once a month or less in response to only important matters .I have 22 years of experience of the study of a huge amount of metaphysical studies, which includes I ching, oracle of rama and other subjects.I believe that after a long period of time you will experience a special relationship with the various sages or spiritual entities of these various sacred oracles.
Now that being said my oracle reading for What are we to do with ISIS, I received hexagram 33 line 2 and 3 and 5.
From memory and investigation I believe this refers to a tyrannical Chinese king, who was overthrown by a large gathering of tribes, modern day interpretation as coalition forces. lines 2 and 3 represent the difficulty of the situation but line 2and 5 represent the perfect timing of the retreat of the forces. Perhaps learning from the lesson of Iraq and Afghanistan we can remove the army's after the initial Victory or final victory and perhaps other factors can come into place to bring peace.
I have an equal amount of respect for the oracl of rama which gave two responses which suggested an evil power being removed from the world, but the victory in battle would lead to a greater conflict, which would eventually lead to the slaying of the dark force. I think ISIS are trying to gather our forces for there doomsday prophecy scenario, but our forces will eventually be victorious.

When you say "we", I take it you mean the UK as a country.

33.2.3.5 > 64

33.2 - Very firmly tied up, cannot retreat.
33.3 - Tied retreat, with disease and danger. Good to keep slaves.
33.5 - Excellent praised retreat.
64 - Not going across.

Something tied cannot initially retreat, then it does, partly and anxiously, then it finally succeeds in retreating fully and not going across.

The UK is bound by allies' rules, so it cannot retreat immediately.
It will retreat partially at some point, and fully a bit later, and will not have to get involved further.

Of course your question was not "what is the UK going to do".
It was what's the best thing to do.

It would all be so much easier if USA/Germany/France/UK stopped funding and arming ISIS, as a start.

Stuart, I'd agree with Diamanda's last comment. ISIS are awash with arms and funds. Weapons are mostly American, funding is from America's allies in the region, Saudi Arabia & Qatar, and from selling oil to Turkey, while the US & allies turn a blind eye. ISIS is a very convenient bogeyman, even better than Saddam Hussein.

Maybe there's a different way of interpreting the tyrant, and the opposing tribes. Personally, I think the tribes are just ordinary people waking up and 'honouring the highest'.

H.33 strategic retreat is very apropos.

And I'm afraid it goes much further than supplying arms and funds. Al-Qaeda and its turbo-charged version ISIS are very much a creation of factional elements within Anglo-American and Israeli intelligence and a modern continuation of the "Strategy of Tension" adopted during the cold war. The context and root causes of Islamism (Wahhabism) and its relationship to state sponsored terror management is crucial to understanding why ISIS exists at all. Terror is a most effective geostrategic tool... But first you have to create the vacuum of fundamentalism so that there is the required division and "clash of civilizations." That's where regime change and economic warfare comes in...

Thank you all for your replies. I can now digest your informative info and perhaps a bit of further reading armed with all this may bring new light on the situation.

We need a real army, since ISIS is already a state. To kill the leader, a manned mission is definitely required like with bin laden. Air strike only prolongs the war, it never ends wars.
So for now retreat is appropriate, to prepare for the real war to come (thus 64 is given, the conflict is not solved and we will have to come back to it)

Keep up the meditation Stuart & sending out the good vibes to the rest of the world. By the way, just wondering - how did you manage to join Clarity in 1972 ? There was probably only one computer back then, and they were using it for the Apollo 17 Moon landing.

Agreeing with Diamanda.

I see 64.Before Completion as referring to something about to be completed as in the world coming to an end. Retreat means to not stay involved. Thus the two hexagrams together suggest to me to be saying "Back off - Retreat, (quit funding) - Before Complete nuclear destruction of the planet."

hi thanks again for taking time to reply everyone. lu1959, the meditation thing is essential ,just wait for the purple ,green ,yellow lights etc. and your plugged in, half an hour tops, and I am ready for the day.
still need me Terence McKenna, Alan watts, mooji and others, occasionally to ground me further . one thing I will say though, ultimately I do it my own way ,and I find such a wealth of metaphysical stuff on the internet, I do not know how I would have done without it.

ISIS can't be having nuclear weapons.... unless other nations give them one, which is also highly unlikely

UWho is "we" in that question? Western military powers, UK, or us as private citizens?

What jumps up at me, like Diamanda and Rosada is 64: unfinished business. Without going into a political discussion, a lot of regional forces with conflicting agendas are affecting the situation in Syria. A complex situation, with unpredictable outcomes. Realistically, the problem will not be solved overnight. In fact, it could get worse before it gets better, with more terror attacks, going to war etc... Unpleasant unfinished business. This is a recipe for collective anxiety, rising racism and other divisive forces in our society...

In that context, 33 makes perfect sense to me, if I interpret "we" as you and I, ordinary citizens. I think it advises us to detach emotionally from all the fear, anger, hatred etc... There is really nothing we can do about Syria, or the decisions being made by all the protagonists. Or to avoid getting caught in a random act of terror. The only thing we can do is to try to find inner serenity.

Wilhelm/Baynes: Mountain under heaven: the image of Retreat. Thus the superior man keeps the inferior man at a distance, not angrily but with reserve. [He does not hate him, for hatred is a form of subjective involvement by which we are bound to the hated object.]

33.2 says it will take a strong commitment to stay emotionally detached

33.3 shows us, with the best of wills, unavoidably exposed to some news and twisted fascination filtering in- with security measures everywhere, people talking about it, images on big screens in public areas etc... And it says perhaps there is some value in keeping abreast of developments, if only from a practical day to day standpoint, like train delays etc...

33.5 says that an "appropriate" level of detachment will bring good fortune.(Liu). what is appropriate is probably different for everyone... Some compromise between total denial and compulsively watching the news, worrying and feeding the hatred... Maybe reading the headlines and getting on with life? Maybe getting involved with a charity to help in some way? But the idea is to do it from a place of inner serenity.

So, in short: what are we to do about ISIS? 33 find a way to stay emotionally detached 64 while knowing it is still unfolding and this could go on for awhile.

PS: if the same question had been asked by the head of NATO or the British PM, perhaps the interpretation would have been different...but the response would have meant something to them, within context.

Something along the lines of 39uc, 6uc or 44uc I would imagine.

Though certainly very necessary, keeping calm and building serenity is not the only thing we can do. It might be said that there's a fine line between cultivating calm and allowing apathy which can lead to ignorance. Educating ourselves to the reality of the situation and not believing the endless stream of nonsense spewing from most media outlets would be a start. If we accept propaganda then we become a propagator of same, by default.

Keep calm and keep aware. (If we so choose).

informed but emotionally detached - a much greater test for our inner serenity than ignoring the entire matter...
