what can I learn 62.4>15

Good morning,

I have met up with one of my older brothers mates whom I haven't seen for over 30 years.
Unfortunately there is an attraction between us - unfortunately because he is married and in my books that is a no go zone.

So I asked What can I learn from my present situation with J Hex 62.4>15

This is actually very similar to a situation I experienced with a man about 25 years ago only I went into that 'no go zone'.

His wife found out but fortunately she forgave him and they are still together to this day.

Fortunately also I have grown enough in myself, now have the self worth and respect for myself that I haven't even considered 'playing with fire' this time around.

But line 4 suggests caution but meeting with what is confronting me - but what is confronting me which I guess is what my question is about - coupled with Hex 15 Integrity well I like that.

thks Liss

Hi Liss,
I'd say it was the attraction itself that you must confront thoroughly. I think with situations like this, unless you look squarely at the attraction and at your very good reasons for not entering that zone, there can always come the "whoops" moment when you cross the line because the firm commitment not to do this was avoided.

I have seen this happen where the flirtation and attraction seem harmless enough and the vague idea is not to go there, but then things have a way of happening anyway, in spite of good intentions. I truly believe you when you say your dignity and self-respect don't allow it, so I am not questioning your integrity! but I think in terms of the reading, the caution is there, all of us being human.

I just read a book review today about this kind of thing....where a man and a woman, both of integrity, fell into what was described as "an affair where no choice was involved". It sounded very romantic but I think the book goes on to chronicle the devastation to both families that follows. some attractions can be so strong that it can seem like choice didn't have a chance. Integrity fell thru the cracks:eek:.

Good call bamboo, thku - I never say never.
It also so doesn't bode well for peace in my heart when I have to keep pulling myself back and I certainly don't want to go into such an unsettling situation now that I have just found the peace within I had lost.

So now I am thinking it is better to move on having enjoyed the moment for what is was -

How best can I move on from J Hex 62(again).1.5>49

Line 1 just sit still and don't worry about it too much

Line 5 He keeps pushing for me to open up to him more, talking I mean, he is the first one for a long
time that has even noticed that I don't say much about much and when he asks me things I
change the subject and he tries to steer me back to answering the question.

Not really understanding this reading except maybe 62>49 - sit still and the truth of the situation will move it on without me having to do much. thks LIss

Hi, Liss:

H.62 is:
小過
xiao3 guo4,
LITTLE EXCESS. (1)

guo4 means to pass, to go over but also excess, transgression, mistake and, paradoxically, to allow oneself some little licences, permission to enjoy one's little vices, like women (men in your case), gambling or wine. For after controlled release of excess, calm returns and all follows smooth.

That was the idea of ancient festivals during which containment was halted. (2)

What Barbara says fits very well with the chinese received text for 62.4:

无咎。
wu2 jiu4
NO WRONG.
First of all: nothing for what being blamed.

弗過遇之。
fu2 guo4 yu4 zhi1
DO_NOT TRESPASS MEETING_WITH HIM.
Don't commit excess neither great nor small...
[For more clear, add water]

往厲必戒。
wang3 li4 bi4 jie4
TOWARDS DANGER MUST BE_WARNED.
Must be aware of what LI means,
it depicts a HIDDEN SCORPION and means STERN and CRUEL.

勿用永貞。
wu4 yong4 yong3 zhen1
DO_NOT APPLY PERMANENT DIVINATION.
This is the actual omen,
don't try to get another more compliant with your desires. (3)

Of course, attraction is very pleasant, even more if mutual. If you perceive that it can affect «self worth and respect for yourself» stop it.

But H.64 is a positive, very lucky omen. The judgement begins with LITTLE EXCESS FEAST, the celebration of the allowed little excesses that one can enjoy without blame. And ends with BIG LUCK!

I don't use too much the resultant hexagram, although diviner little I know about the future. But in your case, 62.4 leads to H.15, the MODEST MOUSE which goes in the same direction that the precedent.

LITTLE MICE mean some playful desires and little ideas hidden and lurking in our brains. Give them some release before they can explode. Better friendly litle mice than aggressive big rats.

All the best,

Charly

(1) xiao3: little / small / tiny /
guo4: to cross / to go over // to pass (time) // to live // excessively / too- // mistake //to celebrate (a holiday) /
過過 guo4guo4: to satisfy one's desires [like to enjoy a smoke, Lin Yutang]

(2) Like carnival.

(3) It speaks of the custom of casting many times retaining the more convinient for one's purposes.

Ch.

P.D.:
GUO is a complex character made by MOTION / WAY and a character that means CHAT / TALK, the WAY OF TALK. The second character in turn is a compound of BONE and inside it a MOUTH → the ancient bone divination? I believe that XIAO GUO although translated as LITTLE EXCESS is speaking of the VOICE OF CONSCIENCE.

Of course, nobody is speaking about ETYMOLOGY, but about MEANINGS.
