What could 48.4 >> 28 mean?

Hello all.

I recently met an old work pal. He quitted some years ago and is now working independently, very successfully BTW. Nowadays I work in a different area, but I really love my previous work. This pal tells me there is room for working autonomously and says he can give me support and bring businesses. He actually brought some concrete and very good possibilities, but I declined because my current work doesn't leave me time to pursue.

I asked Yi: What is there for me to see from this re-encountering?

I suspect you can use this encounter as a guide to your future work situation. In 48.4, there is a feeling of preparation, wouldnt you say? And I think it is worthwhile to have a role model who is doing the thing you would eventually like to be doing yourself. Perhaps now is not yet the time to move on it, but if i were you, I would keep his number and contact info .... you could decide to call him when you are ready. Working autonomously is a wonderful goal, imo, but it often does take some inner preparation -and outer too - to be ready to take the step

The reading could also refer to your current state of mind........you don't seem inclined to pursue it at the present moment. I think it was Deepak Chopra who writes about pursuing one thing while he keep running into signs pointing to doing something else. He ignored the signs but they kept coming, and eventually he went for it.

I think bamboo has hit the nail on the head.
The work you are doing now is the right thing for you to be doing. It's giving you a respite although it doesn't really thrill you to the core. It's a bit of necessary repair work.

I'm touched by how both of you see something I couldn't, in my more restrict perspective. I don't know why I didn't see what now seems so clear. I got confused with the weak beam (28) image and significance. Perhaps this is one of the cases the analysis has to start with the related hexagram.

Regarding that hexagram 28, it often comes up when we're talking about a business startup. The person starting up a new business just has so much to do and learn that it can be overwhelming. However, being self-employed can be the start of something really great. Hexagram 28 is a busy phase that cannot continue for a long time. In this case, it is referring to the startup phase of a new business
