eh?

I've been trying to figure out what I want. I am in a great position to change everything about myself and my life if I so choose and I have been trying to figure it out. I am considering whether further study is the way to go, staying in this town, moving somewhere, meeting someone/having a relationship, staying in this job, going self-employed etc etc. I just can't get purchase on my wants.

So finally, I asked Yi: What do I want my life to be like? and Yi answered 54.1.2. > 16

Bit confused. Lines here both talk about someone who is handicapped in some way but manages to carry on with a smile on their face. I don't want to be handicapped but maybe I am and maybe that is all I want - to enjoy living my life, have success and fun in spite of my shortcomings.

Edit: and the whole of 54 with its emphasis on not action has got me puzzled. Although it resonates neatly with my desperate need to not make the same mistakes again..

Any other ideas?

Hello Precision Grace. Are you trying to figure out what your lodestar is? 54, as we all know and you mentioned, clearly says not to undertake anything. But also is about maintaining ones position. Line 1 talks about someone working within the confines of this position, and making it work for them. Line 2 mentions a person who is partially blind, and someone who is loyal to them anyway. And 16 suggests to me preparation, go with your dreams, but don't get carried away. So, I'm hearing that you want more recognition maybe, a better position, more visibility... You want to be at the top somehow. Perhaps this is drawing your attention to limitations to achieving what you want as well. 16 brings to mind imagination and preparation, also maybe don't get ahead of yourself with all this enthusiasm. Line 54.2, I read here as be loyal to what you want and eventually you will get that recognition you want or whatever it is... Perhaps the Yi is suggesting to roll with the punches here, maybe totally changing things right now isn't the best idea, and if you stick it out in 54 position you'll be better off. I'd read this as take this time to prepare and get a better idea of what it is you want. Just my thoughts.

precision grace this is exactly how I feel about my life - and after a lot of frustrating time spent going to the external trying to bring it in, I finally came to the place of acceptance that I just have to wait patiently until it all evolves in its own time.

My understanding of your readings is saying exactly that - wait patiently but remain enthusiastic about the unknown possibilities life is going to present to you.

And the bit about not making the same mistake again - yep same - and someone once said to me 'when you have realisations like this, even though your mind and heart have worked it out, energetically it still takes time to change' so I guess that's where you are at.....as frustrating as it must seem. be joyous within your patience - LIss

es, I'm seeing that, too, Liss. Joyous patience. Although I don't think that was apparent with the way I phrased my post, LOL. PG, the way I see it, it's like there is a lot to be excited about but you don't want to get carried away by it and make a premature move here. Sounds like you are headed toward what you want, and this is just part of the natural progression of things. Like you are on the right track. If this were my reading that is how I would read it. Hope this helps you somehow.
