What does it mean? 4.4 to 64

Hello,

I casted I Ching because I wanted to know if it makes sense to continue my life in Italy. Everthing seems difficult (too difficult!). I can't develop my work, friendships, love etc. Also my garden refuses to bear fruit. The answer was: 4.4 to 64. I understand the moving line as to have illusions, what means 64? To wait?

What I see from your reading is that you are still very new to your new society and climate, and you have not learned the ways of your new locale well enough to operate confidently. You are able to avoid harm largely because your innocence has a built in protection of goodwill, at least in the short run. Until you learn more of the ways of the Italy, you will find yourself facing frustration. Should you choose to stay on you will become much more confident, but beware not to become overconfident and let your guard down too soon.

You are going through the typical pattern of culture shock that affects travelers and immigrants alike. Good luck and enjoy it!

I agree. Hex 4 is about inexperience, hex 64 is about getting to where you want to be successfully. I think you need to decide what you want from this experience. Why did you move there to begin with? Hex 64 talks about the fox, a fox is very cautious crossing water to avoid getting her tail wet. If she gets across and remains dry, success. There are changes coming for you; you just have to be ready and head in the right direction. Perhaps it would help to ask some clarifying questions. Something like, how could you improve your situation, what is the best action to take for your garden to prosper, etc. Hope that helps.

thank you for your help! I am not sure if it is only the culture shock. I stay here now the third year. Maybe it is also a problem to operate in a country which is not organised very well compared to Germany. Maybe the illusion alluded in 4.4 is the illusion to settle down here. Before settling here I was "vagabonding" between Germany and Italy. Then I thought I wouldn't create anthing worthy when I disperse my energies and decided to live in Italy. But the result was that life became much harder than before. OOPS!
I asked I Ching and two times it answered with Hex 18. Last one was 6 months ago with 18.4.6 to 32.
I came to Italy because I hoped that life is warmer and friendlier, the weather is warmer but the people in this aera where I live a rather conservative and interested only on family relations. Also "alternative" people live at 40 years with their dads or/and mums!!!
Therefore it is very difficult to find friends. They have no need of friends while they live in their families.
But maybe I have to go further and search another approach.

What question did you ask that you got 18? 18 is about decay or a deteriorating situation, with line 6 usually referring to concentrating on self improvement or the spiritual side of yourself. 32 is about persistance, continuing on, no radical changes and clinging to established principles. If you got this answer regarding you current situation, I would suggest that Yi is telling you to use this time to concentrate on your own personal growth. Just a thought.

And I think America would supply the politicians for Hell; after all, the devil is currently running our country
