Hi meganj, Well I am unsure about the lines but seen as though you are scared of heights in real life and your dreams seem to be fear of falling - there's gotta be a connection somewhere in your psyche. So what is actually going on in your life that your think well if I do that everything will 'fall down' ?

Hex 43 can mean breakthrough and Hex 60 is about limitations so put those two together and you have something like breaking out of your possibly self imposed limitations - you know breaking out of bad habits or patterns. Hope this helps in your process of working the dream out. Liss

Dream of falling is one of the most typical anxiety dreams and is an indication of insecurities, instabilities, sense of failure or inferiority. You are feeling overwhelmed and out of control in some situation in your waking life. This may reflect the way you feel in your relationship or in your work environment. When you fall, you are forced toward this downward motion without any control. This loss of control may parallel some real waking situation you're facing in your life.

Now.

When translated to your reading, it kind of makes sense to me:

43 talks about breakthrough but line 3 suggests that it might not be such a wise idea for the time being. Are you trying to impress someone in some way? Are you trying to fight some people or to stand up against something/someone? You should not. You should stay true to yourself but in a quiet way (or otherwise you'll fall).

Line 4 reads: "Obstinately, the man pushes forward, even though he suffers. He has an inner drive that will not let him rest. This is not the way. He should desist from his foolish course and take the advice of others. But obstinacy deafens a man to all good counsel." Which, again, is a similar advice. Which, in the relating hex 60 is only reiterated: limit yourself but don't overdo it. Stick to the middle path.

I'm not acquainted with your life situation, but I guess I'll know what this all refers to: not limiting yourself too hard, but still not trying to push forward recklessly.

I hope this helps. :)

ps Having your family in your dream usually is a good omen which implies security of a sort (even if they're falling with you :D )

dreams of falling symbolize loss of control, as mentioned also by sollina, indicating insecurities, fear of failure etc. They are a lot more common in puberty and up to late 20s (I don't know how old you are) in the sense that they can be more repetitive in that time of life. Also the fact that you "overcome your fear of heights" with bungee jumping and skydiving, is a liberating attempt to deal with something troubling you in your real life.
Your family members being there bears multiple meanings, depending on the view one takes, (others in dreams can be "real" other people with whom we are facing some issues, they can also be different sides of us symbolized by their properties, they can be other inner voices that influence us etc --- too many to mention here:rolleyes:
Anyway dream analysis can be very helpful but I don't possess the Yi knowledge to connect it with the hexagram meanings --- sorry for that:eek:

If you can make a connection with the real life stressor currently in your life (work or relationship or other related) then maybe it is wise to ask the Yi about the specific issue as well.
Hope this helps a bit:blush:
