What does the Cauldron mean for relationships?

Hi Everyone,

I had a reading recently - would we get married? - and got the Cauldron changing to the Creative which I thought very auspicious.

Today I asked whether everything would be ok in the end between me and my girlfriend (we are currently separated) and whether I should wait for her to come back when she is ready (she is not very well at the moment). I got the Cauldron again, unchanging.

Any insights into this reading in terms of relationships would be greatly appreciated.

In order to get 50 change to 1, lines 1 and 5 have to change. It is much easier for others to put it in writing as 50.1,5 into 1.
if I understand the situation correctly, you are asking about an ex girlfriend and possibility of reunion and marriage. In that sense, I would see the Cauldron as your relationship and moving lines as the state of it.
1st line speaks of overturning the Cauldron which would imply the separation (breakup?) and the opportunity to get the situation to breathe and clear the issues and probably gain a new perspective on it.
5th line is auspicious, (I think I have red someplace that it speaks of mending the rings of the cauldron), LiSe says the right opportunity has to come to happen and then to seize it.
In general, I would say that things can grow for the two of you if you take things out in the open and discuss everything and clear the air and afterwards see if the relationship can be renewed and strenghtened.
I have gotten the same cast after having a fall out with a man that had hurt me very much and casting about the situation, I think.. remember finding one thread where the lady understood hex 1 as being out in the open, free for new creative potentials with someone else.

I got it wrong though... the original question (marriage) resulted in hex 50.6, changing to 32.
The 2nd question (should I wait for her) resulted in hex 50 unchanging.

I must be getting old.

On the other hand, cauldron is an man made object, and as it is representing a relationship and you got it unchanged and you are separated..hm...if there is a reason for you to hope, ok, but in overall it is what you make out (put in) of it.
Would be good to get update on this cast.

Hi Parzifal,

Fyi, 50 uc for me has meant asking more readings about my role and priorities in all relationships (work, spiritual, family, friends, self) in order to put my "fate on a firm footing" to be in the right place as grandmother-to-be. I think 50 has a generational element and your reading sounds very positive for your gf being "the one", but may mean there are still areas of concern to be addressed as well in preparing for your dynasty .

If done mindfully this could have a good outcome. 32 represents marriage, so potential is there in spades for the long haul, at least leading through the courtship. Eventually the beauty and delicacy of jade will lead to some of life's harder realities together. That's a natural progression in a marriage.

Relationship will not solidify

In this type of Iching analysis, the intrepreter has to know whether the querent is male or female. As per six line iching analysis method (see Chinese chart below), there is a difference in the analysis, depending on whether the querent is male or female.

Reason: There is a triangle relationship (one man in line 2 and two females in line 3 and 4 of hexagram 50). If you are the male, you occupy line 2 of this reading. If you are female, you have the male in your mind.

The Creative is not a good hexagram for love analysis because it means a beginning: Good to look at and hollow without substance. Creative is one of the eight confrontational hexagram. For romance analysis, the relationship will not become real and long term.
