Hi all, I'm glad to be here with you! I apologize for my english, it is not my primary language!
I expose the situation: I am very in love with a woman who until a few months ago it seemed to me that she was also in love with me. However, he has suddenly decided to get away from me telling me that he doesn't want anything with anyone and that he wants peace and quiet in his life. She has suffered long before and what I believe is that she has been afraid of falling in love again and that is why she fled. I want to write her a letter to ask her for the last time to give us a chance and in that letter I want to tell her everything I feel and think to see if she changes her mind. I have consulted the IChing "What I should know or take into account about writing that letter?". The answer I received is 55.6> 30 and I am very confused with the answer.
What I understood is that I must be less "selfish" to not be left alone. The only thing that I hink is that I turned away from her and didn't look for her more becaus my pride and because I was hurt, maybe it means that?

Your help will be very appreciated.

Line 6, from Hilary's translation:

'At Feng, in his hut,
Screening off his home,
Peeping through his door.
In solitude, without people,
For three years sees no-one.
Pitfall.
'

The usual way of seeing that is that it's "pitfall" to hide away rather than act. In the original story, King Wen was about to lead the Zhou army to overthrow the Shang - but then, on the brink of battle, he died. Tradition called for his son, Wu, to shut himself away in a mourning hut for a long time. But it was a terrible time for that - he had an army to lead into victory. So he rose to the occasion, abandoned the mourning ritual, and overthrew the Shang.

So if that's describing you, it sounds to me like encouragement to write the letter without delay.

Added: I just re-read your post a few more times. It sounds like she's the one who's hiding away and rejecting contact?

You asked what you should know about writing the letter, and Yi has answered by describing her, and how she's cut off contact and wants to be let alone. Maybe she felt overwhelmed in your relationship, because of what happened to her before, as you said. Being overwhelmed and afraid is a theme of 55.

I still think it's encouraging you to write the letter. The line text still says "isolation - pitfall." The background story is still that it's important to march out now, and resist the urge to hide.

Hexagram 30 can mean messages, signs, omens - maybe Yi's saying that's what the letter will be, that your message will reach her at the right time. It will be what she needs to hear, and it'll help her stop avoiding you. That's my guess, anyway. It's hard to imagine this reading saying, "No, don't send it."

Yes, I made a mistake in my writing (he instead of she, his instead of her)
