Hello all

I recently started a new job abroad. I have been put up in a hotel for free and given one month in which to find a place to stay. However, for the first two weeks I was told I was next in line to get a company flat, so I did not bother looking. Then I was told there is actually no company flat currently available although I know that expats should be given priority as we are so new to the area. I have seen a few rental places but nothing really suitable and everywhere is unfurnished (!). So, in another day or so I will have to start paying for the hotel.

So I asked, 'what if I kick up a fuss?'. I received 14.1.2.4.5.6 > 39 (Great Possession > Limping)

Essentially I'm not sure whether to stamp my feet and make a stand (I was given limited help by the company in finding a place), and request more free days in the hotel until I find a place. Or should I just find any half-decent place ASAP? Security is a priority too.

Any help with this reading much appreciated. Cheers.

So you had all changing lines but 3 for 14?

I would say you have a somewhat good chance of the company accommodating you. Absolutely, kick up the fuss! 14 is a very strong hexagram and several of the lines you got describe images of neighbors (line 4) and moving (line 2) plus reminds you to be conscious of difficulty (1). Lines 5 and 6 are very auspicious.

I would think that 39 (also called Obstruction) is describing either your current state, or an intermediary state before you get your way with the company. You may have to go through another round or two of arguments.

I do think you should insist on waiting for the company flat. If need be, pay your hotel bill now and insist on reimbursement. Don't just take whatever you can get. The reading supports the idea that you will be successful in your arguments eventually.

msmith, I think your reading is good for kicking up a fuss, as mulberry said. However, you will have to be strong and persistent in arguing your case, since they might not immediately agree with you.

Maybe someone who already works for the company would like a roommate.
