Check this out, I asked what subject would be most suited to me for purposes of further education (ok I know I was being cheeky with asking in this way) and got 16 - Enthusiasm changing at lines 2 - firm as a rock (Wilhelm) and 4 - he gathers friends around.

Ermm..rock..friends gathering....I should get an MA in Rock and Roll?

course, it could also be telling me to do a course in criminology...?

any other ideas?

PS thanks for putting up with me soul searching *looks away sheepishly*

Hi, Dij,

IMHO all kinds of education which have a certain amount of joie d'vivre to them. Not criminology, for sure... ;-)

Any kind of social projects or social work perhaps. 16, 2+4 as the changing lines to 7, The Leader/Legions seem to see you well-fitted for any kind of search for the common good. The Yang line amidst all those Yins is wandering from the fourth to the second place, which could mean that you come in closer contact to your goals in starting any kind of self-development or self-empowering.

And the background (or the outcome?) 7 could have something to do with organizing, mobilizing, disciplining of your own power or the power of others.

In a nutshell: become a martial arts master ;)))

Karcher sees 16,2 as "Use centering and correcting - The limits have become so rigid they are turning you to stone. Don't wait. Let go of them now. The Way is open to you. Correct yourself." and says about 16,4 "A great purpose is moving here - This undertaking is sent from heaven. It gives you everything you need. Have no doubts. Partners join together in this, gathered in by your accumulated power and virtue. Together your purpose can move mountains."

Hope that helps.

I agree with the above but would add that I think 16.2 is telling you to follow your heart and not limit yourself. I think its telling you that you have great potential and could pretty much do anything you wanted. Part of Karchers 7 talks about bringing order and protecting people who cannot protect themselves. And other interpretations I have read speak of 7 as being about leadership. So what you have in this reading essentially is that you have great potential and should not limit yourself, but perhaps your best direction would be something where you were gathering people together who cannot protect themselves and leading them. I see things like spiritual leader, politician, defense lawyer, law enforcement or advocate or child/adult abuse services. Something else you might try outside the Yi is taking a career test. Most colleges offer them or you can find them online. Hope that helps.

You guys!!! *wipes tears of laughter and gratidude* you are too good to me!
thank you so much for taking the trouble to answer.

Soshin, you recommend "the way of Dij" huh? that one has always been close to my heart. I was asking, however, about course of further study, and in martial arts I am on level 0.
On the other hand, perhaps the message is to take up a martial art again as a way of centering myself. I should most certainly do that.
*bows low*

Seeker, thank you for very helpful explanation. Those career choices are the ones I am considering, specially law , although the idea of being a cult leader also appeals. Nubile young ..ahem(s) please come hither...
(kidding, of course) Can one be an atheist spiritual leader or at least an agnostic spiritual leader? It never occured to me to want to study spirituality in a formal way before although it has always been 'a hobby'. Hmm.. much food for thought there, many thanks.

Finally, Anon, yes, I am very child like, but gym teacher?! I'll just pretend you didn't say that ;)

Hmm. Maybe I should just take a knitting course, it'd be easier.

Actually, the other day I was helping someone do some DIY and was asked to sand a bit of wood on an electric sanding machine. Well. I have not enjoyed myself that much in ages, I got to tell you. I quite enjoye working with my hands and natural materials. Woodworking?!

AGnostic spiritual leader? Why not? Think Dan Millman, The Way of the Peaceful Warrior. He does not expound any particular religion, though his ideas are very close to many found in the Eastern religions. A spiritual leader doesn't have to be a priest or preacher, anyone who follow spiritual principles and passes them on to others is a spiritual leader of sorts. Maybe a spiritual teacher instead of leader.
