I practice meditation and mostly Kundalini awakening meditation. Been doing this for 40 years actually where there were years that I wasn't that consistent. This year, with the movement restrictions due to Covid-19, I started meditating daily for hours. On April 24th the Kundalini energy was intensifying and alot of people around the world reported spontaneous awakenings of the Kundalini Siva Shakti (yin yang chi) . I was curious about how To perceive this energy. So I asked what is this Kundalini for?
I received 32 unchanging. Thunder over wind. Legge commentaries "The sun and moon, realizing in themselves the course of Heaven, can perpetuate their shining. The four seasons, by their changing and transforming, can perpetuate their production of things. The sages persevere long in their course, and all under the sky are transformed and perfect. When we look at what they continue doing long, the natural tendencies of heaven, earth, and all things can be seen."
This is really eye opening. Kundalini is basically feminine energy but it rises up on the shushumna nadis that is both male and female. The Ida pingala nerves are sun and moon. So by doing the sun and moon breathing preparations and Hatha yoga or light spine stretching exercises, one can start his quiet meditation practice. The longer you do Kundalini meditation, the clearer is the spiritual world that is full of Bliss.
My first Kundalini awakening happened at age 12. I started meditating at age 5 actually as it helps with my emotions and sensitivity. My family were with a Sufi cult group where did a lot of meditation and breathing practice. Unfortunately the guru didn't help much when my Kundalini suddenly awoke at age 12. It was intense heat and high. The first burst of thunderous energy from the tail bone rose up and hit the top of my head. Everything was so illuminated that my eyes hurt to look at light. My auditory senses were sharp and can get too intense if there's too much noise.It took me two years to get the energy of this serpent back to its base chakra.
Ten years later I would meet a new guru who is more familiar with Kundalini and taught me how to control the Shakti serpent power.
And being a young adult I was impatient and restless about the actual benefits of Kundalini. My guru said, I can't tell you. Just like how your previous guru did...this is your journey alone. I can guide you to an extent but the actual benefits is based on your fate that was written before you were born.
I am blessed that I get to witness and experience this power and Yi is right about being consistent and enduring this long process. It's a lifetime commitment and each gifts or miracles seen during this Kundalini awakening is just one layer over another. Basically a sage or Junzi (the good gentle man) will need to curb his ego and excitement in the process so that ( as YI had said) with firm behavior, success will prevail ( Spiritual enlighment). The upper trigram thunder (Kundalini) moves down to the lower trigram wind (sushumna breath). Originally it was thought that Kundalini original home was at the top of our head but as the world grew, civilization after civilization where material comfort began to dominate our lives, the Kundalini slowly descended down to the bottom animalistic chakra. If you read Tuck Chang's commentaries on the Hex 32 on his website iching123, the description of Heng ( endurance) of thunder over wind and the process of the telepathy between male and female corresponds to stages of Kundalini awakening.
Hex 32 tells us Kundalini Shakti serpent power helps the man or woman to live longer for the positive cultivation of the elements,seasons etc. To live in harmony with the elements and for the spirit to evolve higher.
