Background

I am now meditating about how I have many fear about money, about the future of the world and my own, my health, my family, etc. So I know the life, the world, the reality are in constant change (D'uh! The Yi itself is the book of change) but anyway is difficult to accept that the thing that exist around will have gone in some moment.

Question

What is the best way to manage the attachments?

Answer unchanged 19

My feelings and thoughts

19 is about Nearing. I thought is the nourishment of relations, enjoy, the much, the time they endure. Maybe if I look closely the things do not deserve that type of attention.

19 is about getting to work, getting things done - while at the same time thinking about the future. So do what you can in the present day, and also prepare for a rainy day which is guaranteed to come in everyone's life.

It seems one piece of advice the Yi is offering here, might be similar to: 'don't count your chickens before they hatch' (or maybe before you even own any chickens or have built a hen house to put them in.)

It says that to 'arrive at the eight month would be unfortunate.' This means that you are nowhere near harvesting your future crops in the eight month which is still far, far away - that you haven't yet even cleared your fields, nor plowed the earth, nor planted your seeds - which is exactly what you want to be doing about now. So it follows you shouldn't 'go there' about what you think, or worry, or plan to do with the crops you don't yet have!

It might also include - as a way to manage your attachments - that you 'be here now' or 'attend to the work you need to do right now'.

Best, D.

Your background comments state that you 'have many fear about money, about the future of the world and my own, my health, my family, etc. '. So it seems you have a wide ranging and diverse set of attachments. Hex 19 is perhaps saying that you can use the richness of what has happened or you have experienced already in each of these areas of your life as things to learn from. You are perhaps aleady wise in many aspects of life (without fully realising this) and can use experience to not only manage your own life, but to act as a beacon for those around you.

You already have some wisdom and some other tools that are needed to 'manage the attachments' so there is nothing to wait for. Impliment and maintain one small change and the this will attract more change and so will become the best way for you to manage your attachments. Start now..... a journey of a thousand miles begins with one small step.

Or maybe your reading means nothing like this at all for you.

Good Luck

Maybe this reading means nothing to my all self but maybe means something for some part of myself. While I read your thoughts about my reading I feel glad (?). I do not know. Some kind of joy: "Hear this guy. This is that I wanted to tell you all the time".

Thanks, Al.

'don't count your chickens before they hatch'

It is funny. I think the reading of the Yi went for this path but in reverse way to me. What do I mean with this? The ordinary thought about this saying is the way of the people made plans thinking that the happiness would last forever. In my case, I do not enjoy the happiness because I overthought about the moment when the happiness end.

In conclusion I have to make this:
'attend to the work you need to do right now'.

Thanks, Al.
