I applied for a job position, and today I received a call from the company's HR stating that they have chosen an another candidate. I passed the initial testing and I had one interview with them, and truth to be told I hoped I would be invited to the last stage, and even that I might be employed. I do suspect why they did not choose me, and if I am right it makes me quite upset. Hopefully, they did not choose me because someone interviewed better.

My question was: What is the main reason I did not get a job with the company x? and the answer was 30.6.55

When I ask why I did not get a job with company x I get 32.2 to 62

What confuses me more, I ching gave me very hopeful answers when I asked what are the chances I will get that job, unfortunately I don't have these answers saved.
I'd appreciate some help with this response - especially the first one...I asked a second one just to have extra input...
Thank you everyone :)

I forgot to say that I understood that with the first answer 30.6.55 I ching is warning me not to be spoiled and let my ego and vanity win...I guess regarding the fact I'm unhappy with the results since i believe I was a good candidate.

Guy Damian Knight says in his book, The I Ching on Love, 32.2: " What you want to achieve is beyond your abilities and capacities at this present time." The implication is that your's is a long range ambition and you should develop your talents for later on.

Thank you very much on your fast response.
I don't have that book, and this explanation is very valuable to me.
Chances are there was someone more skilled, of course.
If you have time, would you be so kind to tell me what would be the meaning of 30.6.55 (especially the moving line) according to that book?

30.6 > 55

Hexagram 30 as net suggests that your competitor had better connections, references, or work history than you did. From the casting I do not think that ethnicity, gender, or appearance were factors. Hexagram 55 as expansion of boundaries supports this idea.

Line 6 is problematical. Wilhelm:

Nine at the top means:
The king uses him to march forth and chastise.
Then it is best to kill the leaders
And take captive the followers. No blame.

Hatcher:

The sovereign takes advantage of emergencies to expedite
There will be commendations
And severed heads
Th captives were never his enemies
Not a mistake

I think what the king uses is a drum, implicit in line 3 and a gestalt of hexagram 30. Basically, you did not beat your own drum enough and emphasize what you could do for the company.

Thank you poccosin.

When it comes to ethnicity, gender, or appearance I also believe that they were not factors. It was a very solid company with perfect reputation and I am quite confident that such factors did not play a role in the employment process.

What I was worried about is that maybe they decided to take someone else because I was on the trip abroad for one week during the selection process. They showed great interest when I will be back and left me with the impression that this is not going to be of any concern. Another worry I had was me being enrolled in masters degree since it seemed that they were worried would I be able to handle work and part time studies that will be over in June.
Both issues were not of any concern in my eyes, so it would make me upset if I were rejected due to that.
If I were rejected because someone was a strong candidate, than I am o.k. with that.
It is possible I was overly modest during the interview and/or overly honest and I will adjust my approach next time.

I would also like to hear further opinions if people believe they are necessary.

Thank you everyone.
