After facing up to the reality of my marriage coming to an end I been floundering about a bit. This is bad news as I start my new job on Saturday and really need to focus on it. This job is the only silver lining in my life right now and I can't afford to lose it by having my mental health affected by my home situation.

I asked the I Ching "What is the secret to finding the inner happiness I seek?" and received hexagram 55.1.3, relating hexagram 16.

I can follow the meaning of 55 I think, that now is not the time to mourn the end of my marriage, but am having trouble deciphering lines 1 and 3 (especially not keen on the broken arm bit!). Also a little confused on the relating hexagram.

Any ideas anyone?

55.1.3 > 16

And ending is followed by a beginning. Losing a wedding ring is like breaking an arm. You have lose one person, but you have gained new associates (the people of hexagram 16) and a chance to shine.

Be not sad.
Be like the sun at midday.

I agree with pocossin - turning grief into creativity, albiet being your new job is the best way to deal with this, at this time.
Relationship breakups have such a shake up on one's life and can be the worst pain anyone has suffered and whilst I still have moments of sadness about mine - now 2 years since we split - my creativity has what has helped me move forward.
Oh that and the wonderful help from the others on this site. x

Thank you both for your replies. Not sure how to do the multi-quote thingy but......

Pocossin - I never thought that losing a wedding ring was like breaking an arm but that really makes sense now you say it. "Be like the sun at midday" I like that :)

Goddessliss - I am so sorry to hear the sadness you experience still, after 2 years. I feel your sadness as I seem to be recalling pain from the break up of my first marriage 11 years ago. I wish I had had this site and all the wonderful people in it back then. :)

I had the first day of my new job today and although I normally hate first days, this one was very different. I felt at home there and so full of an enthusiasm I have not felt for such a long time. I find I simply cannot wait for Monday to come around so I can get started on this new chapter in my life.

I asked the I Ching "How can this new job transform my life?" and got hexagram 14.1.3.6, relating hexagram 40.

I like the look of hexagram 14 on the whole but not sure about the changing lines. Line 6 is clear enough to me and to be honest I have always felt 'protected' in what has been going on with regards to my marriage and that this job was a timely gift. But am really unclear on lines 1 and 3 in relation to this question. Any help?

Also found this.....

Great Possession follows from Hexagram 13, People in Harmony:
‘Reaching out to people in harmony means beings truly return home, and so Great Possession follows.’

'beings truly return home'? This isn't likely to mean hubby may want to come back to our family does it? I know his relationship with the other woman is in trouble. He is being quite cold towards me too but I see this as typical behaviour from him. Whenever he faces a problem he shuts down and pushes everyone out. I know him well enough to leave him alone and let him get on with it but I have seen messages from her that appear to be getting quite desperate and she is unable to understand this new side of him she has not witnessed before.

And the relating hexagram?

Any thoughts on these are greatly appreciated in advance. Have a great weekend :)
